BASS CHAMBER

Dedicated to the emergence of bass culture, SubCulture brings you a series of events and gatherings featuring massive undulating walls of bass frequencies. Designed to create a physical, vibrational experience of bass through the use of enhanced bass reinforcement and bass-heavy music such as dub, glitch and especially dubstep, Sub Culture features music emanating from the westcoast of the US and Canada. Bass culture is a growing phenomenon in North America and the UK, and Bass Massive shows have been proven to be a huge success, appealing to bass junkies far and wide.

Our launch event, "Bass Chamber" takes place in Seattle on May 30th, at the Transcendent Church of Bass, featuring DJ's from San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver, BC.

The concept of Bass Chamber is to introduce people to "Bass Massive" - a vibrational experience of sound at the bottom end of the sonic spectrum. We are creating an environment of surround sound bass frequencies, designed and built to appear as a scientific test chamber. Decor is evocative of a futuristic lab environment complete with interactive activities, sound installations and engaging, kinetic art. The opening hours also include cutting edge presentations on sound, science and consciousness

Entrance signage, lighting and visuals invoke an air of caution to suggest that attendees will be pushed beyond the envelope of their ordinary state of being. Earplugs and blindfolds will be provided for sensory shift. Bass Chamber experimenters are encouraged to go beyond their ordinary limits to the realm of peak experience.

The musical line-up includes:

goSUB (Vancouver, BC)
Cotec (Seattle)
Owen (what's Owen's DJ name?)
Janaka (SF)
Max Head Inn (Seattle)
