2/27 Recycled Tire Retaining Wall Workshop

A 12-4pm day designed to bring the fun back into work. Bring your family and friends out to our organic farm, where we run a vocational program for special needs youth, and run work parties on our time off. Come and learn about how to use tires to build retaining walls, stop erosion, and terrace your yard. Tires are deemed hazaderous waste by the EPA soley because rubber is a non-biodegradable source. But a source that is cheap and useful for so many things, so come prepared for a hands on experience, where you will be learning how to terrace walls, cut tire, and pack tires.
We have been to other workshops and we have seen strong elements of anxiety ridden atmospheres, the classic authority/power trips, and a the lack of taking away an experience from the whole thing. We want our work to be more fun, and since we can decide what to do with our workshops, we say "how about a band?", "a keg perhaps?", "a definately a fun yet educational atmosphere".
