16th International Summer University - Think Tank for Global Peace Work and Building Community

Think Tank for Global Peace Work and Building Community

There is a movement growing worldwide: People are leaving their ways of life and their careers, which they no longer find meaningful. Young people are stepping out of the race of fear and competition, they no longer share the values of a culture made up of lies. They resist peacefully against the big destructive projects of globalisation. They are looking for a new way of living, for new professions, for a different life, for peace among them and a peaceful cooperation with nature. They found meeting places and share new aims. In crisis areas, farmers and refugees come together in peace villages and communities, often risking their lives in order to do so. They all are doing it because they feel that another world is possible.

Now, all these people and groups need knowledge about how this different world could look like. They need the exchange and cooperation with those who have worked and researched for its foundations for a long time.

For a future without war is really possible! A reconciliation of the human being with itself can succeed, even today. In some places on Earth, a civilisation of peace and cooperation, of ecological and social sustainability is being prepared.

The Peace Research Center Tamera in Portugal is a test field for a new culture, a model community working on technological, ecological and social answers for global challenges. 15 years after its foundation, you can study and experience here the basic knowledge for a life without war and separation, for cooperation with nature, for community and peace between the genders.

We invite you for a think tank for global peace work and building community. The Summer University 2010 will be a meeting place especially for those who refuse to loose their hope and their visionary power even in difficult times. We invite young peace workers from all over the world.

A 10 Day Think Tank with the following topics:
Holography, field building and resonance: How local changes can cause global effects Testfield SolarVillage: Solar strategies for energy autonomy The Permaculture Water landscape: Cooperation with the Earth Grace -- Movement for a Free Earth: Perspectives for global peace work Global Campus -- worldwide training in peace professions Art and culture as elements of nonviolent resistance Community building, conflict resolution and truth in love as the basis of a new culture

The Testfield for a SolarVillage is a model for testing decentralized technology. Decentralized means regional, relatively independent systems which are interconnected, creating a new form of networked self-sufficiency. The global interchange between such networks will lead to a new form of globalisation under humane conditions.

In an Energy Power Greenhouse solar radiation is focused, plant oil heated and used as storage medium. The hot oil is used to power: a kitchen for about fifty people; a Stirling motor which is able to provide electrical, mechanical or cooling energy - day and night. The heart of a new energy supply for future settlements is developing here. The greenhouse also serves as water-saving envelope for the production of organic food. Jürgen Kleinwächter, physicist and inventor: „Multi-functionality is a concept which nature shows us.

The goal is to realise local self-sufficiency regarding energy and food, in conjunction with a high standard of living.“ It is our aim to create a place that can be visited as educational centre to learn about global solutions for the issues of water management and energy supply.

With the confirmed presence of: Dieter Duhm and Sabine Lichtenfels, peace activists and founders of Tamera
Pia Gyger and Niklaus Brantschen, Zen Buddhists, alternative economy and management Jürgen Kleinwächter, inventor for decentral solar energy systems
