Ayahuasca Retreat & New Year Shamanic Event in Ashi Meraya, Iquitos, Peru: "The Magical Rituals of the Shipibo Bancos Merayas".

A special, rare and unprecedented event - to salute the New Year with *real magic* - hosted in "Ashi Meraya" Centre of Traditional Amazonian Medicine, in the jungle near Iquitos (Peru), never attempted before in any shamanic retreat centre of the Peruvian Amazon (and beyond).

FOUR Shipibo 'Onanyas' - two of whom (Doña Leonilde and our very senior master shaman, Don Armando) descendants of Merayas, will perform the Ancestral Rituals of the Bancos Merayas. *Not your usual cup of tea* (in Ayahuasca terms, that is!!). There will be lots of ancient, magic rituals whose memory has been lost in the mists of time.
Very few Shipibo shamans nowadays do know - or even heard of - these rituals, which include, among others:

- The Welcome Ritual of the Chullachaki, Spirit Mother of the Forest
- The Magical Dance of the Merayas
- The Magical Fire of the Merayas
- The Smoke Medicine Ritual
- The Remocaspi Ritual
- The Gran Ritual of the Merayas

The rituals were performed mainly - and in some cases, only - by the Merayas/Bancos and their disciples. Hence, only those who worked closely with the Merayas knew of their existence and how to perform them.
