...A night to celebrate the living energy of the universe.
Please come participate in a Despacho, an Andean ceremony of gratitude and love that celebrates our connection we share with all things. In this ceremony we fill a gift with prayers that we offer to Pachamama (mother earth). Everyday objects will take on symbolic form. The leaves of our trees will hold our prayers. Our foods and papers will take on symbolic meanings. A special focus will be honoring the land that we stand on every day. We will open our eyes and hearts to the sacred nature of the urban landscape. We will welcome transformation and healing for ourselves, our communities, and the planet. After the bundle is complete the prayers will be sent through fire, water or earth.

What seems most true is that I began this work before I began. And then awhile after that, in 1996, I came to Boston from California to study art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. As I have come to understand art more deeply, I see how the practices of the artist overlap the practices of the visionary and healer in society. When I began my work with the Four Winds Society in the fall of 2009 I found something that spoke to me very deeply. I found the people, the wisdom, and the practices that led me to myself in a sweet and powerful way. Stepping into wisdom, beauty, and power, I see a world of exquisite potential. I am so grateful to be in Boston sharing the sacred in an urban setting. It is my great joy to share the sweetness of these practices on this beautiful land. I see us living in a world of empowered dreamers motivated by love. We all start with ourselves. What we give to ourselves we give to the world.
