#occupywallstreet Green Mountain Express

I am hoping to facilitate a process where people can come together in solidarity with the occupiers of Wall Street and make a commitment to getting as many people as possible transported to Zuccatti Park in NYC and then back home every Saturday for as long as the park is occupied and the movement remains dedicated to non-violent resistance to the oppression of 99% of Americans.

One does not need to camp out in the park or quit their jobs to support the cause. The largest gatherings and activities take place on Saturdays and daytrippers are encourged to come and participate. It is easier and faster than you might think to get there. The Wassaic Metro-North Station on NY Route 22 is very close, has free parking on weekends and goes directly to Grand Central Station. The Wall Street Station is a short subway ride downtown and puts you two blocks from the Park. Round trip train ticket is only $32.50.

I was there on 10/1/11 and it was one of the greatest days of my life. To participate in an event that truly shows how powerful the people can be, as long as they chose to actually take action and participate in the democratic process, was truly an exhilarating experience. One that is impossible to describe in words and can only be truly understood with a direct visceral experience. An experience that I hope to share with everyone.

Those courageous individuals who took the park a few weeks ago, whose futures have been stolen from them by the greed, arrogance, and corruption that is endemic in our financial, political, and economic institutions did the hard part for us, they created the spark. The least we can do is help get more bodies down there to support them in their fight against Wall Street. I feel strongly this is an issue all of us can agree upon regardless of which side of the political spectrum you fall on.

I was thinking we could start out by just posting if you are willing to drive or if you would like to go but need a ride. Contact with each other directly and let me know who is driving with who. Regardless of whether you are a driver or a passenger accept invite so I can track the numbers. If numbers get large enough I will try to secure a bus or something.

Anyone who can't go but would like to subsidize someone's trip by donating money let me know we can work out how exactly to make that happen. Let me know your thoughts?
