Ziji Visual Arts Workshop
"The Tibetan word for confidence is Ziji....This kind of confidence contains gentleness, because the notion of fear does not arise; sturdiness, because in the state of confidence there is ever-present resourcefulness; and joy because trusting in the heart brings a greater sense of humor.”- Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, The Sacred Path of the Warrior
Ziji is a one day Visual Arts Workshop. A day of meditation practice and visual explorations with Space: (the unlimited or incalculably great three-dimensional realm or expanse in which all material objects are located and all events occur.) as the starting point.
This workshop is open to all who are interested. No experience of visual art making is necessary; just a desire, through the use of the senses, to experience the space of the world. Also offered, if needed, is individual help with creative blocks and a plan for those with a wish to have the continuous presence of art making as part of their lives.
Materials: Bring a pencil and drawing paper. Also, If you have it, a small amount of water based (watercolor or acrylic) painting materials with paper, brushes, water cup, palette and paper towels. Alternatively, colored pencils or markers and paper.
