Kwame and the Uptown Shakedown, live!

If folk-funk was a genre, Harlem based band Kwame and the Uptown Shakedown would be at the top of the list. A friendly lead dread that uses phrases like 'Little Lady' and offers free downloads of the bands newest grooves before officially launching on itunes is a talent to keep an eye on. This multi-culti crew sympathizes that 'time won't stop even if you want it to...' in their new song Far Away.

Look forward to the lyrical messages by singer/songwriter Kwame Binea, guitarist/songwriter Justin Wilcox, bassist Art Vanterpool, drummer Medley, and saxophonist Quigley.

Guests and soldiers of Soul are encouraged to take photos and footage of the performance and submit to kwameshakedown@gmail.com. We would like them to be a part of our video!
