Balancing Act!!!

This one's unreal. A lot of things in life we balance without much awareness... things shift a little to the right, we move a little left, and vice versa.

I feel like I'm tight rope walking on floss. I feel like I'm either going to fall off the left or the right, no way I can keep walking on this thing!

Here's the situation.

Love

My minds in a strange place at the moment. I just need an assignment to get some thoughts into words and so I clicked at the upper right hand corner on "TAGS" and after looking at the cloud I read this lovely four letter word and decided to make it my topic for this paper.

Is it healthy to protest?

I'm just a little concerned about what is happening in NYC, and would like some open discussion about the pros and cons. I've read a couple of the blogs here about it. I also have taken a sociology class, we all watched a video about something similar that happened outside of a major corporation in.. I think Seattle.

Consciousness and Automata (a letter to myself with philosophical jargin)

This recent concern about consciousness and automata started this summer when I looked back over that 2007 issue of TIME (Mind and Body Issue), and was reading my notes I took on my first impressions of the hard problem of consciousness, which partly concerned itself with why consciousness arose at all.

Something Juicy

Satori - a flash of sudden awareness
Samadhi - a nondualistic state of consciousness

World importance in order

"What the world needs now is love, sweet love." Truth.. but let's break it down in a more practical way.

1. Research

What is the truth about things happening here? What is a person? What is the problem? How can we find a solution? etc....

2. Education

Check out this solution. Please use condoms. Please ingest psilocybin. Study anthropology. etc....

3. Law/Politics

I think he's my favorite.

"Psychedelics will do for Psychology what the the telescope did for Astronomy." These words of Terence's are unknown to the vast majority of today's psychologists, even the man himself is vastly unknown in the mainstream. This will change.

Interesting Things

Interesting things. Its the things worth hearing about. For conversations, it would be ideal if you'd like to talk about what I'd like to hear about. Or for blogs.

SXSW

I just got back from a spring break road trip. Went through Austin, where the South by Southwest film, music, and tech festival has been held for the past 25 years. For some reason you could tell by the skyline at night that it was the most liberal city in Texas. I was immediately attracted to it.

helping those that suck

Sometimes people suck, I mean those you know.

Sometimes they don't believe it. Sometimes we suck for accusing them. But sometimes everyone around them agrees they suck. And most people avoid them.

But is that the best thing to do? I feel like they need our help.

Communicating external awareness (politics, law, journalism?)

This is sort of the other and I think more tricky side of truth that goes with my previous blog.

Communicating Internal Awareness (Foundationalism)

These days we (evolvers) take for granted the wise words of the great philosophical thinkers before us because they seem so obvious. But, putting structure to these ideas act as proofs in geometry, (which was Descartes idea actually) and it solidifies complex ideas as postulates for further proofs.

How > Why

This came to my a few years back in a high writing session. I'm pretty proud of it so I'd like to share it. A lot of people ask questions that have no answer, so just in case you ask "why?" and get lost in the seemingly unknowable mystery, I think this can help you out.

create music

it really is wonderful.

i play piano and guitar and sometimes pick up a djembe.

when you create music you're presently-momented and completely free aside from your physical inadequacies which are only limited by your lack of practice, or number of hands/fingers... so you really have a lot of freedom, especially as you get better.

Tripping into history (possibility of past lives)

So next week in this weekly club meeting we will be discussing past lives.

I've had no experience with it. Have you?

I have heard of stories of people smoking salvia and effectively "tripping into history". Heard those? I think that's interesting. Going back into the back seat of some 1930s car, or walking through some ancient european castle.

Past lives...

confusion of "guilt" resolved: an insight into emotions in general

So I figured it out, and you probably already knew because it really is obvious, I just had to organize my thoughts in this particular way that I'll share with you now.

There's two ways to frame most statements it seems.. positively and negatively.

Example, "I prefer women" and "I do not prefer men"

I'm confused about the emotion of feeling "guilty." May I have your thoughts please?

Guilt.

It's got a negative connotation right off the bat. If you feel guilty it's probably because you did something "wrong." But let's break it down a little bit.

There's two sides of the spectrum I see.
