Dreaming is one of the oldest activities of the human race. Some have claimed that the dream book, like the ‘gypsy’ dream-interpretation guides found in botanicas, constitute one of the oldest literary genres in the world, and have been found in ancient Mesopotamian editions. By the Middle Ages Europe already developed a full theory of dreams.

A poem-thing I wrote recently after meeting a very remarkable woman, while wondering if she would return my phone call. With all that's going on in the world, I should worry about this, right? Nevertheless, there is nothing in this world that inspires me more, to both my zenith and nadir, than a beautiful woman. This one is...moreso.
Note: this is a comic poem.

Figured I'd start here with this. My 2 cents (all I can afford, what with my unemployment payments! Hah!) on the subject. If anyone out there would like to reprint, distribute, post on other blogs or websites, or otherwise do something with this, feel free. It's an open letter after all. Hell, let's make it online petition. Why not?

Speaking of the Blue Star; when I read about that it reminded me of three dreams I've had. One, the first, was about 10 or 11 years ago, when I was living on the streets of Berkeley and sleeping in the woods there, in a veritable hurricane of synchronicities and other unusual adventures. The second i dreamt last year, winter '08, and as you will read, is very much related.

Hrere's a poem by a poet from Mexico, Alberto Blanco, that seems so timely these days. It's called "Mi Tribu/ My Tribe". In Spanish and English translation. I found it a City Lights book of his work called Dawn of the Senses, if you're interested in more! Enjoy!

I've been playing around with adapting an old Arabic literary form called saj' (a kind of rhymed prose) into an English one, just finished self-publishing a few of them. Thought I'd share my personal favorite with y'all. Not sure if she's really an 'alien', but she's definitely not from around here!
