I would still love to pick this idea apart, chunk it down, and make it a bit more digestible. It feels like something that one would need some help with. The first thing that i would like to get a more certain grasp of is what all the possible perceptual modes might be and to come up with simpler, more usable language.

This paper is so good and full of gems, yet it scares many away.

What thinks ye?

what i like most about this

what i like most about this essay is the idea that it requires a polyphasic perception of the world inorder to be healthy and whole. there is a good argument that perceptual diversity lends to a higher level of synergy in living within ones environment.

Modes of perception

what gets me is my wanting to pin down just what constitutes a mode of polyphasic perception, for example, trance being one modality within polyphasic perception.

What I am getting from your response here in this thread and in the bioregion thread is more that you can;t always pin it down. I know the feeling and it is a way of being more that what you are particularly doing. I experience it as a way or relating to ones surroundings and not necessarily what one is doing.

Nice how things clear up like that . . . if they are clearing up that is.

how you relate seems so

how you relate seems so mutually dependent on how you perceive and vice versa. If you can just find a way to shift your perception in such a way that makes you more aware of who and what you are in terms of relationship...well thAt seems to be where the magic happens. Thats where the synergy can really manifest and we stop to work as isolated individuals but as the whole working for the utmost good but from the locality of here and now.
finding ways to be receptive and responsive in how we relate in relationship is really important. In however that dynamic manifests...
