I want to create this group in order to help support the sharing of art in any form that anyone wants to express. I would love to see and read any drawings, poems, lyrics, or whatever creative art forms.
At the moment I have quiet the interest in the concept of the mandala. The mandala can be seen as an infinitely expanding circular pattern. To me it depicts the cycles of life and nature, spiritual/mental growth, oneness, the collective unity that we all share with each other, and much, much more. So many different art works are based on this concept, look for it and play around with the mandala idea in your drawings.
Many use it for meditation purposes or to health, pray, and expand one's consciousness. I can see how we all live in a mandala made of our personal beliefs influenced by the cultural, social, religious, ect., aspects of our lives in which we each exist and perceive the world we create around ourselves. Mandalas have existed along with humans throughout history, time, and humanities evolving thought. Evident in the micro and macro of existence from cell development, to the movement of the planets and stars, sacred geometry or sacred temples.
Empedocles said, "God is a circle whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere." You are the center of the mandala in which you create for yourself. Once again I hope this group can help to show how we are each individually unique and at the same time fundamentally connected.
I will post links to videos I like on sacred geometry, mandalas, sand art, zentangle zendoodles, and anything else i find creative and artistic. I also hope to share some of my own work and encourage anyone to do the same. Join up and lets explore our creative imagination.
