The Collectives

A few weeks ago, on September 21, I wrote down an idea that came to me for a story or movie, that I called "The Collectives". Here's what I jotted down.
"Various people from all walks of life begin to show strange symptoms of transpersonal effects such as having knowledge of other people's thoughts and activities, mixing up identities of others. And synchronicities occur around them and to them. it increases until they become a manifestation of a sort of collective mind. Their face becomes a sequence of individual faces morphing into one another. People in their vicinity experience a de-focusing where time and space perception is non-linear. Select animals from various species are showing the same effects. Biologists discover it in micro-organisms.
"The become known as the Collectives. One person begins to notice that they communicate through the synchronicities that occur around them. Any element in their vicinity can become a communication."
The very next day after writing this, I saw the following ad on tv:
A few weeks later an ad campaign for the local Metro newspaper started on the subway. Each ad featured two people physically connected in some way, and reading the newspaper. One shows a newspaper being held by what appears to be a woman's and a man's hand on the same person. Another shows a man and woman's faces tightly pressed together, both reading the same paper. You can only see one eye of each person so that they almost look like one face.
In all the ads, the front cover on the newspaper reads "Fantastic new species discovered". The story is about a shapeshifting creature that has been discovered in South America. It is able to take on radically differnt forms. It says "The creature is not yet available to the media".

This morning I thought about starting a topic about this. Later on the way home I was on the subway standing by one of those ads. I checked my phone and there was an email that Ren Michael Sewell had started a topic "About our Collective Self" on the Dream Team group.
He said:
"In my dreams lately I have not been within my own mind but traveling through the dreams of others- in these dreams I have taken those who I am visiting to the source of our collective self, where our earth-body resides - I have instructed them to lay down close to their ethereal self - near the source and find divine inspiration. I believed them to be a strange phenomena, but it has been confirmed to me by strangers, and very estranged acquaintances- and anonymous messages that others are conscious of my visits.
"I have been noticing an increase in shared dream states - as well as an intensifying of the personality and emotion of everyone around me-
"Just wondering your thoughts on my reflections and hoping that you'll share your own experiences in the real world and dream scape."
Looks like a theme to me.

Not only!
Not only was I sitting here again when your message came through, but I was actually composing a very brief message to Danibelle. lol! lol! lol!
When your message arrived I had also just gotten off the phone with a friend with whom I had shared a moment from my day yesterday. I had seen something unusual but natural occur in the world around me and then had a feeling that it was intended for this friend. My email to this friend apparently corroborated a similar experience this friend had had (unbeknownst to me). Today, at about the same time, this unusual natural occurrence was noticed by me again! So I messaged my friend again. As it turns out, these two messages played a meaningful role in this friend's personal experience as a sign and herald of an important life transformation (all unbeknownst to me, I had just had a feeling).
And yes, personalities I know from our network have increasingly been joining me in dreams. For the past three days especially, the dreams I remember include more and more people I know online.
Nice theme, Mr. Topp. And timely too.

Very nice indeed
I messaged you while on the bus home yesterday, River.. it was all highly synchronicitous having had the downloaded call show up on my queue yesterday.. Today, I was catching up on some email and responded to a call for guidance from a friend regarding some very powerful intuitive dreams she is having that are for another family member.
Immediately thought of Evolver, and logged on just now to look up the dream team to pass along to her... and here we are again, only the message about collective dreaming is right here on our collective unconscious site. I love this ride..
JT, sharing that commercial is particularly meaningful for me. Though I don't have television at home I caught this at a friends recently. My take on the commercial was quite negative - I had an auto-response to it because of the 'trust me' imprinting. It's telling you to rely on someone else to handle your business for you, and unfortunately the people in those roles are unwitting participants in the fleecing of you. The beauty of the use of technology, the subtle relativism of the All being One.. I missed out on enjoying it because I was turned off by the programming message.
Seeing it again now from another perspective reminds me to lighten up, and I needed that right now - thank you.
Great Timing
I've been noticing this meme all over the place. I'm sure you saw Daniel's guest blog for Powell's Books from a few weeks ago when he talks about this topic?

I ran across another tonight as well which is a perhaps slightly more cynical view of how facebook affects social discourse, but it seems to pick up on the same meme: "But what has radically changed is the nature of friendship, which once upon a time was something intended specifically as a bulwark against depersonalization "

It all reminds me of the waterfall imagery of not so long ago when it seemed to me we were undifferentiated going over the falls. Does that resonate to anyone else as well?
Thanks for keeping us on our toes in any case...
I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it.
Collectives and the Disappearing self:
I apologize for the duplicate comment.
Collective Mind/Disappearing Self
The Collective Mind is very very strong around me at the moment. I thought of a few things recently that I wanted to bring up but felt they would be best brought up by someone else and so I simply willed them to say it if it would be the right thing and "hey presto"!! It didn't surprise me yet when it comes to the big stuff I am to nervous to try it or expect it to work. That is where the conditioning of a lifetime can ruin even a believer like myself.
I also have had so so many premonitions and co-incidences. One weird sort of co-incidence is this thread bringing up the topic of the Dis-appearing self. I have worried that I am witnessing that in someone else and I have been thinking about it a lot. It is quite upsetting and I would love to know more about what people here think of it.
I understand that the "social NETwork" can ruin the self and it can turn people into a Collective and so I shy away from any areas where I dont think the collective will be good for me. However the disappearing self I have notice recently spends no time on computers at all. I saw this before and the person did not live much longer so I have been quite scared by this.
