Google Wave synchronicity experiment

Google Wave has gone public. It's a real-time web based collaboration tool. I think it would be interesting to try it out as a way of tracking synchronicities that seem to often happen in "waves" across groups of people.
Overview of Wave: http://wave.google.com/about.html
I think there is real potential with using this on mobile devices and as far as I know, it works on iPhone and Android phones, and I would imagine Blackberry isn't far away.
If you would be interested in participating in something along these lines, please respond here and I'll coordinate the details. It will be an experiment so we'll work out the structure as we go.

Global Coonsciousness Project
I find this a very interesting Idea. It is simular to Princeton University's Global Consciousness project with their random numbers generator. You are probably already familiar with their work and I think this is a good way of making it work in real time as the more you have involved the more potential to measure the results in real time. I have always been captivated by this subject since my first reading about Edgar Cayce .I've also been following "The Intention Experiment" being done by Lynn McTaggert and that is very compelling.
I think we are more connected than we realize but at times I feel that the more we use technology the less we rely on our own inner connectedness and our own inner ability to trust and use our gifts.I also feel that technology has brought us closer together though there can still be a disconnect individually..
I realy think this is a good opportunity to gain some evidence on a large scale and reinforce what most already suspect . Good luck , Id be happy to participate as well as see what happens.. Tim
Hey Tim, Thanks for the
Hey Tim,
Thanks for the interest. I know of the projects you mentioned but I need to look at them more, especially the Princeton one. I can see the parallels there.
I started blogging synchronicities in 2005 and the coincidences immediately spread out to start including other people. I find it happening regularly now and often involving internet or mobile tools but not necessarily.
As far as use of technology - I just try to keep the perspective that the internet is simply a very fitting tool for this collective voice to express itself through. The voice exists with or without the technology. On some level we may have created the internet to allow this expression of a collective voice. Perhaps we have created this network externally as a phase, before developing it internally.
I also take the view that when technology allows us a unique opportunity to explore something (barring harmful effects of course), it's good to grab it. Again, it's all about perspective and being on the computer all day and night is not healthy for the soul or body.
I'll add you to the list of people interested in this - it's pretty short so far but a small group might be good to start with.
Best,
John
Nice
I'm in, let me know if anything gets going. Good idea. After all the internet is just a metaphor for a collective conciousness
very interesting
sounds very interesting. let us know more details on what you have in mind
I like this idea a lot.
We need to become friends there with specific addresses in order to communicate. Ginnie Jester waved me in last December. So far, Google Wave is still a dormant opportunity, waiting.
"Perhaps we have created this network externally as a phase, before developing it internally."
I reckon we understand each other pretty good here, Tim, John, Danny, JC, Edgar Cayce, Lynne McTaggart
Let's go forth and see what happens.
Count me in
I'd love to know more...
I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it.
OK!
Lots of interest - I'll start contacting people via private messages and hooking it up.
I view this working something like:
If you start noticing synchronicities happening around a particular theme, start a Wave on that theme and add the other people. If others notice things happening around that same theme, they contribute that wave.
Embed text, pictures, videos, links.
I think there is a feature to export the wave, maybe there is a way to add it to a blog post.
I'm Waving!
This sounds great. I have never used Google wave but I watched the link and I think I have the hang of it! Willing to learn anyway. Count me in.
google wave address
I've sent everyone a msg via Evolver. Just go into your messages from the top right of the page and reply to me with your google wave address.
Need to learn the WAVE
I do want to participate as well, but haven't had an opportunity yet to check out the Google Wave link. Will do so. Didn't get the message you said you sent - did it just go out to those who have already expressed interest? Or am I looking in the wrong place (main page where I normally get private messages)?

Hi Stace Yes so far I've
Hi Stace
Yes so far I've only sent msgs to those who expressed interest. What you can do is sign up for google wave and just send me your wave address, it would be something@googlewave.com. Then I'll add you. The first wave has been started with me plus a couple people.
