A funny thing happened this week.
I use a Twitter Account at work and one of the people I follow just mentioned that he was weirded out. I actually met this guy once as he was a competition winner and he came to collect his prize. Anyway I sent him a DM and asked him what was so "spooky".
He had prayed to his Grandfather to send his mother a sign from the heavens just so that she would feel his presence and be uplifted by it. The following day she turned on the TV to see her father in a piece of footage from 1975. I thought it was a great story and was very happy for him. Shortly after I started to think that I might know what programme would have been showing footage from that era and checked the listings to see if I was correct .... I was and sent him another DM immediately. It worked out that a similar programme on 1978 would be showing this Friday which had footage of my later Father on it.
I am thrilled because now I can "tape" the show and let my sister and brother know that they should do the same. This guy couldn't believe that he had had such an experience and the only person to ask him about it then had this little bit of synchronistic good fortune.
Anyway the next evening (last night) I turn on the TV and there on a British Station they are just running the opening credits for Reign of Fire (a rather poor Christian Bale/Matthew Mc Conaughey flick) and lo and behold there I am on the screen! Literally a walk on walk off part! But how mad is that!
So I have told my cyber pal that, since his Grandad had Tuesday covered and I have done Wednesday and my Dad is taking his turn on Friday, he had better watch a lot of TV today as he is bound to appear on something!!
I thought it might be nice to have a thread here that was not just for the weekly symbol synchronicities but also for the 'Teapots Happen' style stuff too. Perhaps Teapots Happen you would post the link to how you came up with that name in this thread. I have already read it and I think it is a lovely story.

I must confess - it was not synchronicity, but Google Alerts that brought me here today ... it's been a while since I posted my "Teapots Happen" tale and I haven't updated my synchronicity blog in months, so I was rather surprised to see an alert pop up for the phrase!
I probably shouldn't have been surprised though, as synchronicities and coincidences, things that make me go "hmmm" have been cropping up a LOT in the last few weeks, after a period of a couple months or more in which I didn't really notice many at all. Things in my life are at a major turning point lately, and it seems such periods are commonly heralded by and filled with synchronicity!
Anyways, Danielle asked me to post a link to the tale of how I came to get my user name (which was apparently a synchronistic sign for some users on here in a previous thread), so here we go ...

Dice symbol transported me to middle school memories.. music was and is soo important to me for mood balancing! Singing in the car on the way home when I drive instead of taking public transport really clears my head and helps me maintain humor in Seattle traffic and make my transition from frustrated with work challenges to prepared for being home.
This ties into the 'Ghosts in the Machine' topic as well. I know there are atmospheric disturbances resulting from the Sun and astrological influences in these present times, but my technology ghosts have been with me for a loooong time. An iPod I received as a gift from a soul mate about 3 years ago reliably plays just what suits the moment when I put it on shuffle. For months, it would automatically start playing at 11:11 pm if charging on my dock, in the off position - locked. Usually the same song, but about 1 out of 5 times would be a different, more pertinent song for the moment. And, if I was already listening to it at 11:11, it would stop playing the song I was on and switch to the "I Love You" song (Dandy Warhols).

It's a very powerful song, especially the intro with the breathing sounds, and had a profound impact on me each and every time this happened.

So I told the story (above ) to the girl I work with and she texted me on Monday night to say that her Uncle had just appeared on that nights episode of this programme (which is odd in itself cos he was performing the song "I dont like Mondays").
Today the other guy who started this whole shenanigans sent me the link to see the bit with his grandfather on You Tube and explained that actually his Uncle was in the clip as well as his Grandfather.
So I duly went to post the clip of my Dad to him and discovered that my Colleagues uncle is also on the exact same piece of footage performing a different song!!
I will post any more strange goings on!

I'm getting a little scared about how easy this new reality is becoming. Please help. (just kidding). The teapot at the end of this video, is exactly the same as the one on my stovetop at my new place. It's immune from becoming too hot, (finally!) This synchronicity came up for me a few weeks ago when I saw the following video for the first time, but I've had no good place to post it yet, Thanks Danielle. I recognized the the teapot at the end of the video by its sound.

I woke up at the witching hour. I hate being woken at 3.30 more than any other time of the night but that is exactly what happened. An enormous roll of thunder which shook the house woke me and so I looked out the window as I always do if woken at this time. There are a few reasons why I would look out the window, for instance tonight I was checking for snow and yes indeed it was snowing but the main reason why I look out is that I am hoping to see a fox. If I am woken at the witching hour then I find that the sight of a fox really comforts me. This has been going on for a few years now. Anyway tonight there was no fox so I decided to just do a few bits on the old computer till the storm passed.
So as you can see after a good few years of the same profile pic I decided to change it and so I typed "Danielle" into google images for inspiration. It suggested this pic of Hurricane Danielle which did not at first appeal to me but I clicked on it anyway to discover that it was born on my birthday!!! August 13th. And therefore it has become my pic for the time being.
So thought I would tell you about the co-incidence here at The Teapot thread - and in doing so I re-read down the thread and saw the above comment from you River and watched the video you posted in the link and lo and behold there was a beautiful Fox in the Forest with Alison Goldfrapp!! I got my fox after all.
There you go... I am off to sleep again now. Thanks for the fox, River.

Happy birthday Hurricane! Beautiful. Wonderful. Inspiring. And thanks, as always. Foxes are known for their devotion to kin. I've been verry devoted to family recently (thus, conspicuously absent from our discussions here on evolver). My 19 yr. old son played his first public gig last Saturday and it was marvelous. If you'll remember, he has the same birthday as you. Perhaps I'll coax him into recording an HQ YouTube soon. He and his friend have chosen the name "The Aviators."
Oh, and I also had to change my relationship status from "Over it" to "In relationship", but that's a whole other story.

Yes indeed I do remember that your sons birthday is the same as mine and of course Danibelle and I have a birthday synchronicity too as well as similar names. I would love to see some you tube of the The Aviators!
Are foxes known for their devotion to their kin? That would make the messages they bring me all the more special. I will have to feed them tonight and feed the birds shortly because the snow is so thick here that I am sure the animals are beginning to starve. I will perhaps post some info on our bizarre weather status later on. It is almost apocalyptic to be honest.

As this thread got going I wondered if I would get another teacup thing happen like I did in PEI last summer with a kids book. Rented an episode of True Blood last night (love it) and there was a scene with Eric the vampire talking to some kids. He says "They're like humans but miniature…teacup humans." As he said "teacup" my wife's phone made a bleep bleep.

Foxes

Interesting to hear about the affinity with foxes. As a child I was in a ceremony with a shaman who took me under and sought out my main spirit animal - it was a fox and have had a knack for running into them in the strangest of places ever since. Teacup humans of the fox clan? Great to hear from you all by the way...! :)

John I remember the PEI incident and if you remember one of my favourite Childrens books - no in fact my favourite Childrens Book was set in PEI!! Were you just there once or do you go regularly?
