Yes, still calling it "weekly"

not no one, not no how?

Hmm. Well, I keep my dice next to my candles.. :)

I once was called a 'candle-whore' because they're a bit of an obsession. I save all my candle nibs in a giant glass vase and one day I'll reuse them but for now I just like the energy and color of the varied shapes and sizes, many with holes in them from burning down and through.

Lately there have been many coming into my hands.. I was super excited this past weekend to see giant boxes of quality tealights at Costco.. not those cheap flimsy ones.. I stocked up and have been busily burning ever since..

One Big Love Babes!

Right around the time that

Right around the time that we started this image my wife started burning candles which have a deep scent of pumkins, it seemed uncanny but am anticipating something happening in the collective sphere as well... I heard that famous Smith's song "There is a light and it never goes out" and it made me think of the human spirit as a candle-like imagery...

I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it.

Hi peoples Interesting,

Hi peoples
Interesting, Nathan.
I remember nothing happened with the dice symbol for quite a while, then things started to pop up. See what happens with this one. I suspect that things slowed down a bit because our initial burst of activity eased off. If we all direct our focus to this again, things will start to happen. Shall we try it?

Windows of this world

I went up to the family cottage this weekend, which was Canadian Thanksgiving. Mom loaded up the dinner table with candles, creating a good atmosphere.

Yesterday we were getting ready to leave and I was asked to take a load over to the garbage dump. I said sure, as it was a chance to get some time to myself. In the car I found a CD that I hadn't listened to in a while, Street Fighting Years by Simple Minds, who are one of my all-time favourite bands. I associate that music with the fall season, and I drove to the dump with colours exploding all around.

As I pulled in, the title track was playing the lyric "There's a multitude of candles in the windows of this world". This poetic line reminded me of a story I read a few months ago in a book called Jung: The Wisdom of the Dream.

Jungian Dr. Marie-Louise Von Franz:

"We can only say that the dreams of dying people never refer to an end but they refer to a mysterious, very difficult to grasp, continuation of life. I cannot say that this is certainly true, but the unconscious psyche certainly wants us to believe it. One old woman was dying in the hospital and she told the nurse at eight o'clock in the morning that she had dreamt that she was afraid, because she saw a little candle burning down on the windowsill and she thought: 'Now the great darkness is coming.' And suddenly there was a change of scene and she saw that the candle was on the other side of the window, big and burning vigorously. Four hours after that dream she died. I think the dream is clear. It says there is a threshold and on this side of the threshold the candle of life goes out, but in another sphere it goes on burning."

wedding candles

I went sailing with a friend of mine who is a pastor. I asked about his son's recent wedding. He said it went really well, but there were a few things he would have done differently. I asked him to name one, and he said, "The candles!" He didn't describe how it was done at his son's wedding, but he went on at length describing how he uses candles when officiating a wedding. "I like to use five candles. The two worship candles which are on the altar and lit a few minutes before the service. Then the two people getting married each have an unlit candle which they light off of the corresponding altar candle and using their candles mutually light their wedding candle. The symbolism is just really nice." He was really energetic when talking about the candles. It wasn't til I was driving home that this conversation resonated with the "weekly" sysmbol. I had been keeping an eye out for candles popping up the past few days, and then didn't realize until later when they did! It was kind of like the feeling when I remember something from a dream several hours after waking up.

I did that..

at my wedding and it is a lovely way to do the candles. Interesting 2 weeks ago I was at a wedding and there was a separate little alter just in front of where I was sitting and they Bride and groom went to it together just after the start of the wedding having lit their own candles and lit the candle on it in memory of The grooms mother who had recently died. They then stayed for a moment of prayer before proceeding with the ceremony. It was very emotional but very special too.

Candles and Symbols...

Interesting Dagra. I've noticed that feeling of that there were correspondences with the images here that I'm just forgetting. I've noticed it with this candle image as well. I had one other interesting candle image Saturday and it was in my car listening to some music that's brand new that I've been anticipating. The lyrics (paraphrasing) say: "I'm blowing out the candles...No I'm not, I'm relighting them again...This seemed poignant to me given the candle imagery and how candles are fragile that way they can be lit or easily blown out and doing either seems so symbolic on so many levels, as in the way your pastor friend was using them...

I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it.

C is for ...

Great one Dagra - a story specifically about the symbolism of candles.

My daughter brought home a book from school of words starting with C.

Mine is green, and lit for abundance.

May an abundance of goodness
flow freely into life.
Allow us to be receptive to the
treasures that present themselves,
enriching our journey.
