Touching the sky

There's a place near where I live called The Only Cafe. I walk by it every morning on my way to the subway. They have been painting a mural on the exterior and every few days there's a new piece of it to look at. Over the weekend they did a bunch and when I walked by this morning the artists had completed the upper portion of a man reaching up to the sky, his hands reaching into a ring-shaped cloud with rays of light coming through it. The lower portion of his body is plant-like with blue vines extending into spirals. The upper body with hands reaching up was just added over the weekend. You can see above the ringed cloud portion there is white primer as they just finished this part, and the mural is still in progress.

I have just returned yesterday from a glorious 5 day retreat with shining spirits in womens bodies celebrating the rites of passage, nurturing and healing each other, and having all kinds of fun!
I spent my last hours walking around the acres of campground tracking down a few very special women.. to show them the email stating that this weeks symbol was hand. Every one of their jaws dropped after having shared the experiences with me that made this so spectacular. Especially because.... I didn't read the email until Sunday. My phone was off, in the car, all weekend.
I remembered my camera this morning but not the cord or adapter so no pictures yet but suffice it to say.. having such a good time, I left all technology behind and only took two pictures all weekend. One is of the anthill behind my tent site.. with my shadow on it, and holding up my hand, fingers outspread, to demonstrate the size. The second picture is of my little altar in front of my tent... upon my altar is the woven basket I transported my sacred objects in.. the basket is one I got from my high school reunion a few years back, it's in the shape of my home state.. Michigan. : ) If any of you know someone from Michigan, you'll know that we say where we're from by pointing to a spot on our hand.
These by themselves would have been enough, right? Well, we went into hyperdrive with it on Saturday night. The Sacred Theatre of the Goddess, also known as skit night. Little girls in fairy costumes sang and danced, young girls were welcomed as 'menarchs' for their first blood, warrior spirits initiated into the Amazons where the 23-yr tradition of awarding the Sword was replaced.. by handing out roses to the new Warriors for Peace.
Anyone could sign up to perform (I did a little happy dance :) and I felt my goosebumps rise and hairs stand on end as the MC stated simply "The Goddess has a message". A sweet and gentle woman took the floor dressed beautifully in veils, headpiece.. her eyes, usually soft, shy and twinkling, flashed and sparked with passion and energy and she paced restlessly looking us all in the eye as she held her hands out stiff-armed, wiggled her fingers about, and spoke these words which spat as if torn from within her:
"WE are the five-fingered ones.. WE have been given HANDS!! Hands to hold, to heal, to help.. USE YOUR HANDS to HEAL the wounds within your self, heal the animals, the plants, the children, heal each other.. and through this healing, with these HANDS!! YOU must Heal the Mother... it is to us, the 10-fingered ones, to heal Mother Earth."
Forgive my artistic license in abbreviating slightly, as it was a bit longer and more dramatic but it is what I heard and remember.

this morning on my way to work, i was thinking about the hands theme... stopped in to the coffee shop across the street. they have revolving art work on display, and for this month i have avoided staring long, as the content makes me cringe. i noticed today that i'd missed several drawings - mostly of hands in different positions - including hands using chopsticks. it made me giggle.

That is such a powerful message and if everyone was taught only that in Religion Class in school then the world function on an entirely different level.

I have been working (thankfully, and at last!) for a few weeks now with my hands. Of course, my hands are all I can see when I'm keyboarding, but this is different. I've been working as a trim carpenter alongside a 75 year old mentor. Every day our hands are dancing together, turning a vision into someone's fine reality. I spend a lot of time watching his hands. I didn't post this earlier, because I felt that it wasn't a strong synchronicity, but as I think about it now, it's actually gentle and deep. He listens to gospel radio in his old beat up truck, and I'm fine with that. Even a little Rush Limbaugh here and there. I have our hands emblazoned clearly in my minds eye throughout the day. It makes me wonder how yours might look! The synchronicity that leads me to write, however, is related to the Gnostic Gospel. My co-evolver ~high writer~ posted an evolver blog just a short time before John posted the above quote. I've been watching and wondering if anyone would make a comment. The first comment (as of today) is a paraphrase of the quote that John posted above.

Jesus and Mary Magdalene

There are multiple references I am finding to Jesus and Mary Magdalene of late.. to see it pour into our T-CUP is deliciously satisfying!
Significant in that my sister, her husband (a baptist minister) and their 6 children have just returned to the States for a visit from their current home in Lebanon where they are 'church-planting' - they are coming to visit me in Washington and I have been experiencing great trepidation over this. It is tremendously calming to have this common ground brought to my awareness.. I believe it will help me reconnect with them.
Reading High Writers blog, I am struck by the 'become a solitary person' quotation and discourse. River, your story of working with your hands alongside a carpenter listening to Gospel and Rush.. I too have been working alongside humans who I would have seen as apart from me in the past due to theo(a)logical or political differences.. yet now I feel compelled to engage with them on our shared interests, skills and needs... and this feels REALLY IMPORTANT to me.

I've been finding little spare time since arriving back. The circumstance around cutting my hand was pure carelessness I was using an electric clipper doing some hedges and although I let go of the electricity the blades were still going. Two things about this were, 1) I can't for the life of me figure out how I could have been so absent minded or careless it was as though unconsciously I had some force making it occur. 2) Intuitively, I feel an unconscious or maybe supra conscious force may have saved my finger being chopped off. A kind of razor's edge sort of moment somewhere between thanatos and eros?
Toronto was amazing, what an intense moment to be there. Of course, I did arrive too late to get to the spore, but had no idea that the G20 would be taking place, nor that an earthquake would be reverberating through (who would have guessed that?) I had no business being in Toronto and wasn't sure what drove me there but I have had a desire for months to go and now I beginning to think there were bigger things at work....
I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it.

I'd like to hear more about Nathan's hand too. I went to work that day thinking "uh-oh, Nathan said he cut his hand" in an ominous and deadpan tone of thought. On that day in particular I was using a large miter saw constantly. Fortunately, I didn't get cut until the end of the day, and it was more like a paper cut from a sharp corner of finished wood. I'm glad all is well and that your hand is healing fine Nathan.

A formation appeared a couple of days ago that I've been "puzzling" over. It looks sort of like a toaster divided into 9 cubes. I've been staring at it a bit, finding quite pleasing, but finding no connection to the hand symbol. However today I was going through the comments on crop circle connector, and someone called Cathy called it “Our Rubik’s cube”, and someone else photoshopped it up as a Rubik’s cube. Of course, it is a Rubik’s cube.
As I write this, someone a few feet away just said “I’m handing it in.”
I find this formation quite significant in relation to our weekly symbol.

Lots of buzzing.. lots of word association... words appearing in my minds eye, floating by and around each other. Before retiring, I saw River's new post at 11:11, echoing my feelings that John's statement about the why and the how is what's coming next.. what is almost here.. I reached for my pen and notebook, and wouldn't you know, as I wrote certain words that pen just wouldn't work. So here is what I remember:
Holding Hands (most recent crop circle John shared)
Connec-shen (new Evolver spore here in WA, seemed to manifest out of my love for you all here and desire to meet some synch-sisters/brothers physically)
Heal with Your Hands (Goddess message etc)
Solve the Riddle with your Hands (Rubik's Cube)
Give what you have in your hand to receive it.. (Jesus paraphrased, Gospel of Thomas).
TOUCH.
When the word TOUCH arrived it was with that belly-dropping awe. I felt inside like I had solved the puzzle! It seemed so simple, lying there after spending an hour in ecstatic free-form QiGong movement out in the woods in a strange and beautiful opening that drew me into it. Everywhere I turned as I stretched and flowed, it seemed the trees were embracing, acknowledging, and nurturing me as I tuned, cleared, healed my own pains. It felt so clear and obvious as I was compelled to reach out, to caress the body of my partner next to me, in deep intuitive rhythms clearing knots of energy from his tense and sore muscles - the stale energy came into my hands strong and painful and I had to keep stopping to clean them energetically. I have no training in such things and yet felt as if I knew exactly what I was doing, where to go, how to relieve the suffering.
Got in this morning to my computer.. yesterday I left open on my desktop your 'Book in the Sky Part 1', John, to resume reading today.
As I read it with increasing electricity and hair rising I got to the comment from Celeste: "wow River, when the Unicorn began to sing me the song of remember when .. 'you wanted to touch in world that was solid'.."
This brought me right back to River's post again, of the book in your library by Barbara 'Hand' Clow. I've been flipping through all my unfinished books and they are all closed to me now.. I've known for a few days that I'm supposed to be reading something and that it will come to me.. I thought to myself last night ,when I saw the title included Rainbow Bridges, "I wonder if it has a Unicorn in it?" Whether it does or doesn't I think is irrelevant.. the connection is the dreams and visions that connect our minds, the songs and stories that touch our hearts.

3rd time's a charm. I was just walking out the door when one more email showed up. Danibelle's comment. I am walking in a waking dream for real! I have to head out the door right now (locally speaking) and there's just too much to try to describe. All the connections that are occurring these past few days... I feel like my head is swimming. I commented on a friend's blog yesterday on evolver, in a manner that's a little unusual for me, and included a link that points to John's "The Book in the Sky, Part 1". John, I actually didn't realize the link you posted above was a link until this afternoon. It startled me today to find that it references a time back in time which I remember quite vividly. Celeste is still a good friend of mine and we stay in touch. She doesn't spend much time on evolver lately, I think. But she posted some things last year that brought me unexpectedly to tears with a rush of recognition. In the evolver post I replied to yesterday, I said I was 2 for 2. Well, Danidear, your message made my cry a little with recognition and joy. I was at a Wilderness mentoring group meeting a few days ago (on my birthday!), and the convener was telling a story about a story which he was told by a native elder whose moral was "Knock three times"!
This is getting to be a great puzzle! The link to Ms. Hand's interview takes a while to get through, but gives a great frame of reference for crop circles, connection, and a different understanding of time. 9 dimensions, time being the 9th, or highest. A new twist (for me, anyway). How many squares on the face of a rubic's cube?

thereafter the words metatron cube have been popping into my head to my annoyance, so much so that I found myself wondering 'what's the deal with this metatron cube?' I was therefore intrigued to read on the comments section of the CCC that the formation is a variant of the metatron cube never previously conceived?

I also did some research and found a page and Youtube video by Charles Gilchrist discussing the meaning of the metatron cube. He calls it transcendental, and discusses how conceptual ideas precede manifest realities claiming that the metatron cube teaches about conceptual constructs and consciousness. Hi Amanda I haven't read dark materials but Gilchrist makes the comparison between the archangel Metatron and Thoth.
I feel that the word metatron sticks in my thoughts because of its relationship to the word metaphor I was reading this on Wiki .

They explain how a metaphor is simply understanding and experiencing one kind of thing in terms of another. She can pick up any instrument and play it.. from elementary school through high school she continually changed instruments and swiftly earned first chair.

Seems to me there is a big connection here between using our hands and perhaps the oil spill too could be brought into the context around using our hand to clean up. However, the rubik's cube imagery seems like a playful challenge that we're being called to do hands on work but it's a puzzle and a game as though even the serious problems need to be dealt with in a light or playful manner. Also there is the aspect of mystery and something to "solve"....
Also significant is the crop circle symbols taking place each week with some sort of connection to our chosen symbol...John, do you feel the theme of the symbol is coming to you with any sort of connection to the crop circle phenomena? In other words is it a conscious effort on your part to tap into the phenomena or rather synchronicity that is energetically in harmony more unconsciously?
I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't believed it.

Yes the trickster playful element seems always to be present, I think anything creative is that way when you're doing something creative you have to play around in order to get an original result. Also for children we always say that they learn through play, but maybe we're not encouraged to be that way as adults.

I just got off the phone with our upcoming evolver spore guest speaker, probably about the same time you posted this. Raymon Grace has agreed to give a presentation for us on the 15th on the spirit of water and how to energize for ourselves it via dowsing. He uses a bullet on a short chain for his pendulum, which swings from "the hand." Dowsing is an ancient way to connect with information from the subconscious or unconscious mind. So the message we will be exploring at our upcoming spore will be, basically, healing water (and all life that it represents) with our hands. I've also noticed that a lot of crop circles tend toward six-fold symmetry, like a snowflake.

Yesterday was a busy day here. I tried to sleep early last night. I laid down at 11 or so and singlemindedly put the earphones on to listen to the "Hand" interview playlist once again. It finished after 120 minutes and I tried to sleep. I had originally hoped to just fall asleep while listening. It was a feeling of being very tired and an inch away from sleep, but my eyes were still being held closed. They wanted to open themselves. I gave up at about 2:20 and went for a walk. I saw a big, bright star rising in the east and thought "Oh! that must be Venus! Venus holds an important position near the midheaven of a chart I had been researching earlier yesterday for the upcoming new moon on the 11th, the day I hope to have all my stuff (mostly books) boxed up and moved into my new place. I had signed the papers earlier, and that's a good story in itself. My daughter and I had cleared the new place with sage and sweetgrass together. I haven't actually checked yet if that big bright star I saw as I went for my walk was indeed Venus on Google Sky, but I suspect it was. I did quickly check my local astrologers blog, however. And even he is dealing, a little uncharacteristically verbosely, with some the themes we've been discussing. But before I even got online, or just as I sat down to rather, I noticed Nathan had been by and friended me here about two minutes before I gave up on sleeping at 2:20. Hi Nathan! After being online for a little bit and doing a few of the aforementioned things, my email notifier popped up and reminded me again. And it was so tall with all the recent activity!
Because I'm moving, I will be offline from sometime soon through what looks like Tuesday, the 13th. I'm super-excited about my new place! It's a metaphor for so many things which I view as incredibly healing. Many blessings and heartfull thanks to all y'all. Oh! and happy new moon!

I just got this! I was just listening to the YouTube interview series that is recommended by this new post on evolver. As I was listening to the last minute of video 2 out of a series of 12, I was thinking of John's recent statement, "Also assembling thoughts on a topic about why we do this and where it's headed." The information in these videos is resonating with me on many levels at once and spinning off lots of connections to recent experiences. I was actually thinking of sending a PM to John about it when I realized with a chuckle, that this interview is with a woman named Barbara "Hand" Clow. The author of one of my favorite books in my personal library, called "Chiron, Rainbow Bridge between the Inner and Outer Planets" which was given to me by a very dear friend. I had no idea... just bumbling along! But if this connects back in resonance to my best friend in the whole world of many long years and adventures, then by golly, you guys are definitely In Lak'ech ala k'in.

So much, so many, so wonderful... connections of spirit, of experience, of knowledge both formed and unformed. I am intrigued at the wholeness, the circling back and spiralling up to encompass all with greater intensity.
River, linking back to an old friend through our symbols resonates with my linking back to family that I've been apart from; this in conjunction with the new links that we are forming through Evolver/RS makes me wonder if they couldn't be ancient links RE-forming.. and so are we all transforming together.

I am just back and I am stunned by the developments that have taken place since I have been away. I am going to re read it all tomorrow and check out the links etc.
However just briefly I will mention that I see the Rubiks cube image very clearly and it has changed my dynamic with this symbol totally. I had really awful nightmares last night, very vivid upsetting dreams about my father who passed away 3 years ago. I dreamt that he was lost and I couldn't find him and as a result I have been very out of sorts today. I often find that I have signs from him which is very heartening but the dream made him seem so very far away. Anyway when I was a child my father bought me a Rubiks cube and was amazed by my ability to complete it so quickly. It was a source of huge entertainment for him so when I saw the cube image it made me think of him and happy times immediately. My specific memory was of when we would have big parties in the house and my Dad would insist on me demonstrating my Rubik cube skills and challenging his mates to who see who could do it the fastest! Then I read Danibelle's post where she says "My daughter is a whiz at solving it and LOVES to do so for guests."
I feel so moved by this as I feel instantly connected to him by all of this and the symbol and the words and the fact that he was also really amazed by my huge interest in Crop Circles too.
What is happening here in T Cup is sometimes just a bit of fun but it is becoming a bit more than that I think. Because it started out as open minded fun I feel that the magic it is creating has a good energy. I really welcome the way the magic is accelerating but I hope we can keep the fun element in it also.

New formation, continuing from the last. It was remarked on the CCC site that there has been more continuity between formations this year.

Another modified Rubik's cube, this time with corners removed. This one is exact Rubik's cube proportions, whereas the first one was a bit like a step pyramid, with the base wider than the top. It makes for a cross on each face of the cube, with a total of six.
The mid-tone shading is accomplished by creating alternating light and dark pixels as you can see in the close up picture. Also, the people in this picture give you a sense of scale. Do people still need to debate whether these are made by humans or not?
A common interpretation of the cross as a symbol is as a representation of in intersection between heaven and earth.
I think River mentioned that sixfold geometry is showing up a lot, and yes that seems to be the case particularly this year. The number six played a big part in the synchronicities I was having while writing the Book in the Sky article: "I then had a dream of a man called "Sextum", Latin for "the sixth time", who won the lottery by playing all sixes."

At the time it was the beginning of Calleman's "sixth day" and I think the concept of the sixth day (November 12, 2008 to November 7, 2009) was intended to play into what I was writing at the time. But six has persisted past these particular dates and seems to have a greater and more fundamental significance.

On the way home today there was a soccer game in the park. On the sidelines, one player had a jersey with the number 6, and next to her was a player with name Sexton.

7/19 - After an incredulously joyful weekend, I checked the newly added commentary about this circle. I noted the 'rubiks cube' and the 'We're not in Kansas anymore' comments in particular. John, I think you'll especially appreciate the rubiks cube comment. It relates precisely to your dream! Also, on a personal note, I love my new place. It fits me to a "T". I've told some friends that it's almost spooky weird how perfectly all my stuff fits in this tiny apartment. The address is 1676 #6.

I started cleaning on Saturday morning and as I picked up items or touched furniture to clean it, I felt strongly these things were to be moved. It was clearer than it ever had been before, you know that urge to rearrange furniture when you have to move the couch to get at the furballs anyway? I was carrying things from place to place, setting them in, moving over, swapping with other things... the energy was flowing through me and through THEM, and intensified when I made the right combinations.
My redecorating prompted marvels once again at how all our furnishings, trappings, sacred objects and aesthetic items all come together perfectly to provide the space for us to collaborate collectively, or ruminate individually - both of which are needed more frequently of late as we find ourselves inspired to begin new creative endeavors together. Every furnishing I have is second hand from random discoveries, yet is a PERFECT fit, even for quite odd configurations.. this goes for my housemates and their stuff as well... and, we had it all before we got here!
From the moment I turned in the driveway of this 'tract' of land, I heard a singing in my ears and felt as if 35 years ago they built this place for me to live in it now, tend and cherish it, and bring these people together in that context. Acknowledging that has caused the perception to leapfrog itself and it now welcomes and inspires us through these magical weavings to surpass limiting mindsets, to connect more deeply within the place, and with each other.
A-ho.
p.s. I just cracked myself up, I was inspired to type 'a-ho' as I spoke it and swept my hand out to release these feelings and bring back spirit, as we do after sharings in circles indigenous to this area. Funny though, because this weekend, I actually stepped on A HOE, and smacked myself in the face with the handle... 8-/
Hands and feet

I had a string of things happen after reading Nathan's comment.
I noticed that this new cube formation appeared near a maze shaped like a foot.
I was up at the family cottage. After reading it, I went into the kitchen where my mom told me she found the drawing that my had daughter made, that we had been searching for. She did it in late May, and it wasn't consciously the inspiration for the Hand symbol but probably played a part. I had been planning on using it in my spore presentation as a symbol for the collective unconscious, but I couldn't find it.
She's five, and she drew this spontaneously, with no prompting.
I took the drawing into my bedroom to take a photo of it. My daughter entered the adjacent room and started singing, making it up as she went. Part of the song went "With my hand".
After taking the photo, I went to plug my phone in. Sitting by the cord was a business card that I hadn't seen before.
Later that day on the way home we drove by a school. They had a big paper foot up in one of the windows. My wife said "Hey look at that big foot."
I thought of this image used in the comments for a crop circle earlier in July. It's annotated "Note the 'two' hands holding up the heavens whilst the feet are on the earth?"

I have not forsaken the group but I am back in Spain and there is such limited computer access where I am. Anyway..!
I finally got around to telling my hubby about all the crazy stuff going on here when we were out last night. I started off by telling him that we had chosen a symbol ..for instance a ´HAND´ and then we would see if there were any odd synchronicities or appearances of hands from that point. I fully expected him to think I was going crazy but he just burst out laughing and said ..I just saw one! What do you mean, I asked him, you just saw a hand?
He had just been outside smoking a cigarette before I told him about TCUP and while he was out there on the crowded street a man had walked past him with a partial Hawk outfit on him. He was wearing enourmous Hawk wings but in one of the wings was an enourmous wooden HAND! John had been standing there watching him wondering what reason could there be for the large and out of place if not inappropriate hand.
Back on line properly next week and look forward to reading all the posts more carefully and checking out the new links.
