Purpose is to share information to raise awareness of cults, psychological abuse, group dynamics, and psuedo-cults.
The purpose of this group will be to help spread information about cults and how to protect yourself against manipulators, con-artists, and sociopaths. Recruitment techniques, psychological abuse, stockholm syndrome, etc.
Sometimes small groups or communities can accidentally take on cult-like tones which compromise the stability of the community itself as well as the safety of its members. Sometimes power dynamics in a group can become abusive and manipulative in a gradual way.
Cults prey on people who are vulnerable, and unaware, often having the most success when a person is in the midst of a crisis or depression. They can appeal to our sense of belonging and purpose.
It is important for us to grow healthy communities, but we have to keep our wits about us and be on guard for cult-like activity.
