R. Crumb did a series of drawings of a North American site from pre-European savanna to strip-mall snarl. He finished with three possible futures for the place:

"Worst Case Scenario: Ecological Disaster," littered, pitted desolation under a merciless sun;

"The Fun Future: Techno-Fix on the March," levitating cars and scooters, slipping between goofy-looking buildings and an architect's monocrop of pines (Davis, CA?);

"The Ecotopian Solution," hippies (including a bearded man in a dress and an ordinary-looking black woman greeting), bikes, wagons, musicians, domes, a treehouse, a farmstand, etc., under the canopy of a mature forest.

I went through a few years of Bucky Fuller fandom (Fun Future/Techno-Fix), but it's the Ecotopian solution that moves me.

hm

flying cars would be cool though, lol. But think of the wrecks. They're bad enough already without having to worry about falling. I don't know too much about ecology but it seems to me that unless we drastically change directions we are probably looking at "Worst Case Scenario: Ecological Disaster," littered, pitted desolation under a merciless sun;

But good things are happening like the green movement and the search for renewable energy so, hey, it could happen :)

Worst Case

Every scenario that we can imagine will come to pass, somewhere, sometime. Populated with those people that hold those visions. We are Evolvers, we don't have to endure any situation that doesn't please us. If struggle benifits you in some way you will experience it, if for no other reason than to realize you don't have to suffer. Thats what this place is all about sharing, growing and learning to transition into a parallel world of our choosing. We share this consensus reality with those who lack respect, they may wake up under a merciless sun in desolation. We have to let them learn their lessons the hard way if thats what it takes.
I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
