Alien Dreams

I've had a couple of alien-related end-of-the-world dreams. I wonder if anyone else gets these..

This dream was dreamt about two months ago.. I was on a girl scout trip (something I haven't done since elementary school) and was told that everyone had to climb up this barren tree in the middle of a field to sleep so that the zombies wouldn't get us. I didn't believe there were going to be zombies at all; I thought everyone else was disillusioned. Therefore, I slept on the soft ground to let whatever would happen, happen. While I was laying on my back gazing at the stars, I saw a distant flash of colour zigzagging across the sky. It basically looked like a mobile, spastic orange star. The craft vanished in a fade. (end scene)

About a week ago, I dreamt of aliens again.. The end of the world was common knowledge. Everyone knew that on this day, something would happen. The thing was, nobody wanted to believe it, so they tricked themselves into thinking everything was normal. My friend from summer camp, who I haven't seen in four years, and I were the only people who believed there was trouble afoot. We traveled through this underground red steel maze and found my mom and her friends in a cave-pool, happy as clams. We found an escape route and reached my brother and his boy scout troupe, obliviously blissful. They were on a school sports field with a couple of plateaus nearby.

My friend and I told them that there would be an imminent flood and that we should climb to the top of the plateaus to survive, but they wouldn't listen. At this point, I looked up at the sky and noticed a large disc-shaped chunk of the starry night sky was blocked out by a craft. I knew immediately that extraterrestrials had a master plan for Earth, and there were so many things I could not know, and the longevity of my physical existence looked dire. My friend and I looked at each other in wild excitement. We decided to forget about all this riffraff and go enjoy ourselves in amorous embrace. (fin)

Although it's odd that both dreams involve boy/girl scouts, I'm thinking it's not a huge issue.

Probably the main idea is to not live in fear of extinction.

scouts, higher ground

Hey Cait,
Interesting stuff. Thank you for sharing it.

I'd say that the fact that scouts were in both dreams means it's worth looking at. Some definitions from dictionary.com of scout that could be relevant:

- A person employed to keep watch for some anticipated event
- One that is dispatched from a main body to gather information
- Someone who can find paths through unexplored territory

This could be saying something about you and your role in things...perhaps you are a scout.

I also noticed that in both dreams everyone had to get up to higher ground in order to survive the zombies/flooding. Could be something there too.

Best,
John

Seeking Higher Ground

I was going to start a new discussion about my recent recurring dreams about flooding. I wanted to see if others were dreaming about rising water as well and then I read Cait's post. In the dreams I am usually near where I grew up, about three miles East of the Hudson River about 2 1/2 hours (by car) North of NYC. Its as if the river suddenly gets a whole lot wider. In the last episode a huge rapid rush of water comes out of the South following the path of the estuary only much much bigger than what seems possible.

I have also had my own extraterrestrial experiences; dreams, trance experiences, and interactions with small luminous flying spheres. I totally believe in "their" existence but think to define them is extremely complex. For myself and, from what I have gathered, for many others they intercede as teachers nudging us along toward personal and planetary "shamanic initiation" or heightened eco-consciousness and galactic consciousness. Like the shaman's in "sky world" being torn apart and remade by beings on spirit shields, their presence in dream experiences of catastrophe and Earth changes seem to tear at our identities and shift our consciousness.

The imagery of the cave-pool also really resonated with me as it is a traditional and ancient place of sanctuary and sacred ceremony, the womb space were we can go to access the energy of the sacred feminine.

Rivers

Hi Kevin,
Interesting to see the flood imagery in both cases. What do you make of it? The widening of the river suggests expansion of consciousness to me and the huge rush of water seems like a symbol of change.

I recently had a dream in which I was told very emphatically "You can't drown in a river." I take this to mean that when you are in the flow of life, moving forward, you stay afloat, as opposed to getting bogged down in distractions, mental traps, etc. The person telling me this message in the dream was a co-worker. I told him about it and he said he once swam out too far in the ocean and couldn't get back in because of the current. He became weak and was losing body heat, and felt he wasn't going to make it. Lifeguards saw him and pulled him in in time.

The title sync was very cool!...both of us writing those titles at the same time. I find that whenever people get together and start talking about this stuff it results in further syncs. I feel that syncs are dream-type events and are symbolic - in this case, "higher ground" being the symbol and perhaps a message.

Flood Imagery

I like your symbolic connection of the expanding river to the expansion of consciousness. I hadn't thought of it quite that way. The dreams seem to have that quality to them.

Today I came across some NDE stories, in JJ Harpers "Tranceformers" where people that died saw events in the "future" and returned to talk about it. Some of the events included East and West coast flooding. The "predictive linguistics" of the Web Bots have also been speaking of a "global coastal event". Along with some other dreams and predictions both scientific and visionary, these are keeping me tuned in for actual real world expression of my nighttime catastrophes. Of course, I hope all catastrophes are averted and the dreams remain merely symbolic.

I am fascinated with the dream/consciousness/Earth/catastrophe phenomenon. I mean the idea that the Earth Mother is deeply involved in our consciousness and our dreams. And in turn that our collective and personal consciousness is expressed in manifest reality. That by doing the hard work and evolving toward greater expressions of love and understanding we can express paradise both socially and in the natural world. Thus averting catastrophe.

Synchronicity

Wow, instant synchronicity! When John posted his comment I was writing mine and look at the title sync.

Dreamy Dreamy Dreams

Anna
I was wondering if other like-minded individuals were having dreams like this! Most of mine center around some sort of mass destruction. They're all different: in one, all civilians had been shepherded into underground prison facilities where we never got to see the light of day. An alien tried to kidnap me in a particularly unsettling dream. Others have included fires, mushroom clouds, even bees swarming the city- though not, oddly enough, flooding. Perhaps because I grew up in a landlocked state.
I think that we're all ready for something big to happen. When I dream of the apocalypse, it's never sad or terrifying- I get so motivated to do something, so excited that the change is happening and the prophecies are coming true, that I'm almost disappointed when I wake up. Does anyone else feel this way? Sometimes, the surface-level stagnancy of our world is nearly intolerable. Dreams are a wonderful reprieve, and perhaps they fill another role as well: preparation. After experiencing natural disasters or nuclear wars or widespread panic in dreams, perhaps, when they happen in "reality," we'll realize that all we have to do is... wake up! (and if not that, at least we'll sort of know what's going on.)
Of course, this ties in with my theory that this isn't reality... couldn't we just be dreaming a dream right now? Aren't we? I just want to wake up...

Hi Anna, I would say that I

Hi Anna,
I would say that I have had two types of destruction or apocalypse dreams, one which is quite nightmarish in a cartoony sort of way, and the other which feels very much like a transmission with real information about the future, and could involve some fear but isn't nightmarish per se. An example of this second kind is the dream I posted in this group that ends with the line "But it's strange, the bad sense that dies. Nothing doesn't die."

The cartoony nightmares have involved alien-type beings, but they don't always. They always involve a perpetrator and victim relationship, with cruelty being inflicted in some creative new way. I wake up with a feeling of dread. These dreams have been on the decrease however, probably because I figured out what makes them happen.

I noticed that they would occur when I went to bed without taking some quiet time and integrating myself - when I was feeling fragmented. Or, less often, if I went to bed with creative energy that I had actively surpressed. I have to be somewhere in between I guess.

The transmission dreams seem to happen on their own, regardless of what I'm doing. They definitely do provide a relief from the apparent stagnancy of the world as you say, and I think you're right with the preparation part too.

are we dreaming?

When I have end times dreams, I get giddy, too.

I love the way the collective unconscious manifests in dreams.

I've had several dreams involving UFOs in the past few years, but only one vivid one involving an alien...

In the dream, I was lying next to a friend on the grass on a rooftop. I fell asleep and began to dream. In the dream (within the dream), a being made entirely of light appeared and told me that the world would end in the next 24 hours, but assured me that everything would be fine. I awoke, and my friend was still sleeping, so I started trying to figure out who to say goodbye to first - or who to share the information with. I was staring at my phone and decided to contact Nick (a man I haven't spoken to outside of dreamland in eight years or so, and who also happens to have been in my first lucid dream when I was 16 years old). I started feeling pressured, however, because I didn't have enough time and because I couldn't remember what exactly the being looked like, and I felt that there was something I was missing.

I then received a text message explaining that the dream had been real, that the events were truly unfolding and that if I looked over my shoulder, I'd see the being again. So I turned, and sure enough it was an alien surrounded by these wispy, flowing beams of very bright light. She told me once again that everything would be fine, and that I had to let myself see what really exists rather than the disguises my dreams provide.

I ended up on a hillside overlooking the most beautiful, vivid sunset I'd ever seen, along with my mom and aunt, and my brother who committed suicide a few years ago. I wanted to go out on this dock on the water, and my mom and brother were excited to go with me, but my aunt was hesitant. I felt like I needed to be as close to the sunset as possible, over the water.

I awoke totally energized and excited.

disguises

Amanda,
That is a deep one. A dream within the dream. This seems important: "I had to let myself see what really exists rather than the disguises my dreams provide". This seems to be saying how dreams are truly symbolic and not literal. The being says the world is ending, but everything will be fine. So, of course, it's not really the end of the world in the literal sense.

In the 2012 dream I posted in the other discussion, the sun/planet collision sends fragments towards the earth, but no destruction happens, it's more about transformation.

Thanks for sharing.

Apocalypse Dreams

I have been having reoccurring end of the world dreams for several years now, most of them are the same but a couple of them were different. The reoccurring dream always changes, but has the same aliens. I never see the actual beings.

It always starts out as a normal dream, where I'm having a pretty good time. Then I hear the noise.

It's a low vibration, kind of like when a helicopter is right above your house, but way lower and louder. It shakes the building I am in, but only slightly. In the first and most elaborate dream, I was in a high rise in New York City when I hear the noise. Since it was the first time, I didn't know what the noise was. I looked outside and saw the ship coming.

It wasn't really a ship though, more of a flat rectangular plane of hematite-like metal (very reflective, like a mirror almost but with a dark sheen). It doesn't really fly, but materializes in front of itself, and as it materializes it drops shiny black seeds that fall heavily to the ground. The ship flies lower and lower and when it hits a building, it simply makes itself into a 90 degree angle and slides right down the side of the building beside me. I am looking out the windows of my penthouse and I have never been more frightened.

The flat plane flies up and gets even with my window and I think it is going to come inside through the cracks, but it doesn't. It just looks at me closely through the window, as if to say it knows I know, and zooms away.

The dream fast forwards to the next evening. I am uneasy and waiting for something to come. Again I hear the noise, only this time it is coming up through the ground. The seeds that the aliens planted emerge as huge balls from the ground, they look to be made of dirt but are covered in huge iron spikes or teeth. The balls are about the size of mini cooper cars, and they always come up in pairs. They grind people up starting at their feet, it's really horrible. They kill everyone on the planet and I'm one of the last ones, running to get away. I see an ambulence and get inside but the drivers are already dead. I feel a voice say that I won't get away and they saved me for last so I could see them gnash everyone else. They said gnash.

I have this dream in different scenarios, the last one I had was right before Barack Obama announced his candidacy for president. He and I were touring a clean energy factory (I used to staff factories and do tours) and he was showing me the classroom when I heard the noise. (This is how I knew Obama would be president!) Obama looked puzzled by the noise but I almost sh&* myself with fear over it. We went back out into the main foyer of the factory and the lights were all off and everyone was gone. He said he was going to go check it out, and I decided to hide under a desk in the classroom so he'd get killed first. (How nice of me, I know.) I am hiding under there and looking at all the dead bodies piling up when I wake up.

OK, last one I had just a month or so ago, I was at a drive in movie with my friends and suddenly meteors start to fall, and I know it's the end of the world. We try to drive away but one of them crashes into our car. I say, "Let's go ahead and get out and die. We need to get it over with."

I have crazy and violent dreams, not so often as I used to, but there is usually a lot of carnage. What the heck!!

Union of opposites

Meg,
I have had a lot of dreams with strong similarities to the ones you're describing. Rather than being plain nightmares, I feel that they are part of a collective process taking place, related to what D. Pinchbeck has been calling "the presencing of the other".

In the mid-nineties I started to have dreams with this kind of cartoony violence, and sometimes involving an alien takeover or colonization. In one dream, there were bubbles that rose up from the ground, and it was terrifying, with people running and screaming.

I recently read a book by Jungian analyst Edward Edinger called The Creation of Consciousness: Jung's Myth for Modern Man. It has given me a new perspective on my own dreams and on the idea of aliens, apocalypse, and so on. The book expands on a conclusion reached by Jung towards the end of his life: that the purpose of our existence is to make conscious the contents of our unconscious, or to "create consciousness". I'm still getting a grasp on the ideas presented.

See my post on evolver called Solis et Lunae: http://evolver.net/user/john_topp/blog/solis_et_lunae
And my post in this group:
http://evolver.net/group/dream_team/discussion/2012_dreams

Jung: "Becoming conscious of an unconscious content amounts to its integration in the conscious psyche and is therefore a coniunctio Solis et Lunae [sun and moon]." I believe that the spheres arising from the ground in pairs in your dream symbolize this process of the union of opposites.

Edinger presents a dream that was related to him:

"I am standing with a man outdoors in a city. From a construction site a few blocks away we suddenly hear an enormous explosion. A huge, black metal ring is thrust up into the sky by the blast and then comes hurtling back down. It is so large that I know its impact wherever it lands will kill many people. We hear the terrible crash and I cry as I feel this sudden tragedy."

Edinger's interpretation:
"This...can be seen as a collective dream. The explosive emergence of the great black ring represents a collective phenomenon we are currently witnessing, namely, the birth of the dark Self out of the earthly efforts of man. Ours is a time of great promise and great peril. As the dream indicates, proximity to such an explosive event is dangerous. One may be crushed under the wheel of the juggernaut. The danger is greater the more psychologically naive one is...If the emergent God that wants to be born in man is not humanized and transformed by a sufficient number of conscious individuals, its dark aspect can destroy us."

I won't say I totally grasp this, but I think there is something here that can help with understanding your recurring dream and other dreams with similar themes. This is an area I want to expand on and I'll do so in this group.

Best,
John

The scouts are what impress me...

I definitely get the appeal and attraction of imminent disaster dreams, and the manifestation of the collective unconscious in those signifiers is pretty impressive, no doubt. I have to say that I'm really fascinated by the scout imagery, though--first, the "scouting" aspect of things, and secondly that you (presumably) and your peers are children in the face of the coming apocalypse. What is that saying about your relationship--and, extrapolating from YOU, OUR relationship--to the symbol of the coming flood/aliens/destruction?

Is it simply that we are helpless before it, or is it that as "children"--unjaded by culture, still curious and passionate about justice and well-being and concerned more taking the world on its own terms than on terms we're told to take it--we are able to better see it coming? Does the apocalypse kill these children, or do they outsmart it? Does it change them, either directly, into adults? or is it some huge psychic rite of passage that forces our metamorphosis into something greater?

like a movie i recently saw..

I just recently saw the movie "knowing" with nicholas cage. After seeing the movie i felt dizzy as it was as if a message was being relayed to me through this movie. It is much like the dreams you are describing here. In the movie there is an imminent catastrophe that will eliminate mankind and there are aliens working to send messages to the ones who can recieve them.

Apocalypse Rosy

This post reminds me of a line from a song I wrote that went: "Apocalypse Rosy Ima gettin' cozy with you tonight." Siriusly- if it were the end of the world- what we we be wanting to do? Uh huh.

Blue light

I've been reading a book by John E. Mack the Harvard psychiatrist who decided to take UFO abductees seriously. He has noted that light is a key element in abductions and it is often blue. There is a section of the book dedicated to this topic. The light is often used to levitate abductees and apparently alter their frequency so they can move through walls and windows. This raising of frequency is associated with a kind of feeling of vibrating at the molecular level and is often ecstatic. It seems that the light in your dream is performing the opposite function of lowering frequency. There are also mentions in the book of the top of the head feeling like molten gold during this frequency change.

It seems the camp interns are in some sort of purgatory state perhaps, as a result of their decision to take the safe route.

tornadoes and the nibbler

About 8 years ago, I had a dream that the center of the US (like the midwestern corridor) was destroyed by tornadoes.

In the dream, I was in my house in Maryland reading the paper, and an insert fell out. It was like a 'special news focus/commemoration of the great disaster' sort of thing and there were pictures, including one of a person who had been crushed against an i-beam by the wind, but it was not photos but illustrations. I was really upset by it.

In another dream, I saw a giant machine called the Nibbler, roughly the size of a skyscraper, that was destroying suburban Maryland by flipping itself end over end.

I am absolutely fascinated to read everyone's dreams here. Thank you.

Scouts and Dreams

Both myself and several of my friends in the Pacific NW have had apocalyptic themed dreams. In many of these dreams, we have been scouts. Not boy/girlscouts, but literal scouts. People leading groups of other people into deep wilderness to escape some sort of apocalyptic scenario.

The frequency and intensity of these dreams have diminished for all of us since Barack Obama has become president. However, they still happen some times. My hummingbirds/clouds of light dream also posted in this discussion group is one of the most recent and happened just before the solstice.

We have struggled with how literal to take the dreams. Are we actually preparing people to survive a literal physical apocalypse? Or are we helping other spiritually to be ready for a change of consciousness?

Both, maybe....

Apocalypse Dreams

For years I have been having dreams that sound similar to some of these posts--flooding due to huge waves and cities in chaos with people being led into tents. I have also been a scout leading people into the wilderness due to some emergency. It also seems that during these specific dreams my abilities increase such as flying, jumping for great distances and running.

These dreams always seemed eerily realistic even if they were not.

Its comforting to read this discussion and see that I am not alone.

These dreams have also permeated my music lyrics. I would be happy to email a song or two to anyone interested. Its strange to me because when I recorded some of the songs I had no idea that people would be having similar dreams. The synchronicities are increasing so rapidly lately its almost too much to handle.

I love it. You guys/gals rock!

David Downey Jr.! I would

David Downey Jr.! I would love to hear a few of your songs. And how do you email them?, because I have a lot of music I've recorded over the past several months, but I am too broke to mail CDs to friends around the country! Look forward to hearing (from) you.

Apocalypse dream

Oh, I just remembered this dream I had a few years ago. I lived in Philly, this was around the time of 9/11, but I can't remember if it was before or after, I think before-
Anyway, the city was flooded, but it was beautiful and luminescent- sunset colors (this actually inspired a painting I did, too). I was flying and jumping around, we had adapted to using the top halves of the sky scrapers, and got around that way, although some used canoes. I was creating paintings that were also maps. Around the edges of certain buildings there were these brightly colored portals. I don't remember the rest. I had dreams like this somewhat often, although this one was the most vivid and fun!
I would love to hear your songs, too!

Dream visitors

For quite some time I have practiced and explored the world of lucid dreams. This is technique where you become conscious of the fact that you are experiencing a dream state of awareness. It has been used throughout civilizations history to have visions and commune with spirits. And is a common technique in shamanic cultures. Currently because of the widespread popularity of shamanism it has seen an upsurge in popularity in certain circles. When one is lucid dreaming you are able to control your actions in the dream state and explore the realm of the dream. Much like exploring our waking world. Of course the laws of the dream world are quite different than our ordinary state. You can fly and the scenery changes quite frequently and dramatically, there is a lot of symbolism and others whether they are spirits or people can join your dream.

From the beginning of my lucid dream explorations I have been contacted by what I call ghosts. The experience begins as a object or figure which doesn't quite fit in to the dream-scape. Often it happens around the image of a door or passageway. A rift begins in the dream, as if the scenery is rippling or tearing, I feel a pull kind of like a magnet or a sound like a sonic boom. Often it is accompanied by these beings that appear and communicate with me. They are often people who claim to be deceased or half human half animal beings. Occasionally they appear as aliens. Little brown ones with the classic big oval eyes.

I will quickly describe a recent encounter with these beings:
I dreamed I was standing on a vast desert plain with tan dust swirling around me in the wind. I heard a noise that sounded like a jet planes sonic boom, and turned to see a stone arch way in the middle of the desert. As I watched the archway a giant snake or dragon the size of a freight train came through the archway. I ran to get out of the way and as I turned back I could see its massive eye staring at me as it passed. Its skin looked fluffy or downy and was sand colored I could see that it was made of the same dust that was swirling around me

I began to run away terrified of being run over by this huge beast. As I ran I came to a large sand dune and began to run up it. My legs felt like they where full of lead and I had a hard time lifting them. At this point I realized that I was in a dream and became lucid and began to run up the dune with ever increasing strides until I was bounding like a dear. I had that exhilarating feeling that is accompanied with lucid dreams and began to explore my dream. I found a path down the other side of the dune which lead to a small river shallow enough to wade in. I could see the stony bottom of the stream and fearless splashed into the current. I could see lots of little fish swimming around my feet and they moved as if they were one. As I waded along I cam to a blockage in the stream. It looked like a beaver dam. I decided to dive under the water and see what was there. As I tried to surface on the other side I came up against a hairy mass that wouldn't let me through. It was like a layer of dirty ice on the surface of the water. I turned around and resurfaced back where I started and continued to explore the dream. This went on for some time until I slipped back into a regular dream in wich I was in a school then riding on a bus that I forgot something on. I went back to the bus to find what I had forgotten, but their was so much other peoples clutter that I couldn't find it. I left the bus and got in my car with my wife and drove away. Here is where we get to the alien part...

As I drove away I saw a flat rectangular ship hovering just over my car and following me. It was A luminescent white color with red lights on its surface. I felt the familiar magnetic like pull that usually accompanies the other beings when they manifest in my dreams. I asked my wife who was riding with me if she could see them and if she believes me now? She couldn't. I sped away to try to lose it but it chased me. Suddenly up in front of me there was a figure pushing a bus across the road in front of me to block the way. I drove around it and continued to drive across a field through ruts of mud which made it increasingly harder to get away. I came to the edge of a forest where the way abruptly ended at a cliff with a train track at the bottom. My wife fled away down the tracks but I stopped and decided to face my pursuers. I was no longer in my car and I turned and looked behind me and saw three little brown aliens looking at me. They where dressed in what looked like raggy workman's clothes. At this point I realized again that I was dreaming and became lucid. The aliens seemed very benign and peaceful and had the same quality as little children. As I looked into their eyes, which looked just like the eye of the dragon from earlier that night, they asked why I was running? Their mouth didn't move but I could hear their voice in my mind. In reply, I asked why they were chasing me. They answered in a matter of fact way that it was because I asked them to be here. At this point I was very relieved and felt very comfortable with my new friends. There was a forth alien with them who looked human. He was a tall white guy with blond short hair and a beard and strange tattoo's on his shoulders. He said that he was from a distant star system. I asked if humans could mate with beings from his world. He laughed and said that the parts don't fit...Its kind of ironic that this is the first thing that me as a human would think to ask and not something deeper. He then said that our future was in the stars and not to worry about the coming changes. "look at them as growing pains." was his exact words. The dream ended at this point and I woke up.

I know this was long winded but I felt it was relevant to what you are asking about. I don't know if this is prophetic in some way but if it was a real contact it left me feeling good about aliens, these ones anyway. And made me more hopeful of our future.

I have had some contact with unfriendly beings but they are usually monstrous in some way. And I have had end times dreams too. I feel that much of this feeling of anxiety that manifests in our dreams about a destructive end comes from our collective mind which we all can tap into when dreaming. We can all feel it, this sense of unknown about the future. So fear manifest its self in our collective unconscious. try to look at this as a wake up call. Dreams have a lot of power in our lives. If we can think positive thoughts about our future together here on Earth and not give into fear driven media, crazed with mass destruction and chaos conspiracy's about 2012 we may have a chance. If these are the end times let it be the end of a way of being that is out of harmony with the Earth and each other. Try to look at our times as a time of great and positive change for humanity. The more we do it the more it will manifest through our dreams and into our reality.

Peace,
Jeremy
