Dream visitors

For some time now I have been practicing the art of lucid dreaming. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this it is becoming conscious and aware just as you are in your waking life in your dream. While lucid dreaming you can explore the dream-scape just as you would in normal consciousness except the laws are slightly different...You can often fly or float and you can move by taking great bounding leaps. The scenery is vibrant, colorful and has a luminescent quality and the sensation is exhilarating and very similar to tripping. My lucid dreams often change from night to day from instant to instant. There is often a lot of symbolic quality to the dream, and I always remain myself when I lucid dream.

During a lucid dream a object may attract my attention as being of a very unusual quality and it will stand out in the dream-state as if it is out of place and does not belong. It can be anything, a toilet or vase or a doorway. Often it is some sort of portal. The object will begin to vibrate quickly and I will witness the dream-scape around the object ripple and pulse as if alive. I will often feel a magnetic pull coming from the object and hear a tearing sound, sonic boom or explosion. This is where the dream visitor part comes in...

Often I will see the visitor pushing itself through the dream-scape as if stretching spandex fabric or rubber around the point where it is entering. It will tear through the dream fabric almost like a pimple on skin. The entities may also just appear with out this spectacular effect and just suddenly be with me without much announcement. The entities may or may not communicate. Often they claim to be people who are deceased or appear as extraterrestrials. Sometimes The entity has no real form but appears as rainbow hued multi-armed energy. Sometimes they look like human sized energy jellyfish. The feeling that I get from the entities is usually benign and friendly. Once and a while I will get a very uncomfortable feeling accompanied with them, as if it is just too intense. I seldom sense negative feelings. But I have encountered a few nasty things. Recently beings which claimed to be extraterrestrials contacted me. I will post that dream and what they said soon. I suppose these experiences could just be my subconscious mind playing with me but from doing some study into the phenomenon of lucid dreams I don't think this is always the case...

Those of you who are familiar with Toltec way of knowledge, like the stories of Carlos Castinada and others in that lineage, you are aware of the use of dreaming to gain knowledge and communicate with spirits and guardians. Dreaming is a common and accepted practice in shamanic culture, it is just as accepted as using hallucinogenic plants for divination, communion with spirits, and self discovery. Dreams play an important if not central role in the visionary experiences of almost every culture. So my tendency, especially since these experiences occur in lucid dreams, is to take these them seriously.

I have started practicing meditation recently and a similar experience occurs which is like lucid dreaming. I get to a place of stillness and I see swirling pulsing colorful energy of some sort. There is a center of focus to the energy which resembles a spiral rift. I believe it is the same portal of my dreams. If I concentrate on these colors I have the sensation of expanding and filling the room followed by a feeling of being empty and hollow. Then scenery will appear much like a dream. I may see a scene like watching a movie and/or see a vision of a person. The vision may speak often in a garbled language that sounds like gibberish. occasionally I can understand it but it is often just a phrase. Its like listening to an am radio that isn't tuned to any particular station. I cant hold the vision for very long and it quickly dissipates.

These dreams and visions have been coming more and more often, but here is the very, very weird part of this story, I am now experiencing these entities in my waking life when I am not trying to see them.

Around Thanksgiving last year I was visited by some kind of luminous orbs that I have been able to capture on film with my digital video camera. They look just like the things in all the orb vids that people post on Youtube. They seem to react when spoken to and are always present. If I turn my camera on and start filming in my home they pop right in just as if they want me to film them. I thought they might have been bugs that where showing up in the camera as orbs but this is not the case. I did an experiment where I filmed a bug flying around my house under the same light conditions that I filmed the orbs under. The bug showed up as a bug. Two minutes later I filmed the orbs again, these are no insects. I will post some of the orb videos on my profile page and attach them to a subsequent post.

This was accompanied by another phenomenon which may have a medical explanation( I am going to see an eye doctor) but I think it is connected to my dreams somehow. Its almost as if I am seeing two worlds, the usual one and another superimpose over it or embedded in it, if that makes any sense. Its like my inner world is projecting itself out into the material world in a visual way. I often see a fluctuating energy field of some sort that has a checkerboard digital fractal quality that seems to terminate in the center of my field of vision. It appears to be the same strange portal effect that happens in my dreams when the visitors come or like what appears in my deep meditation. It is also accompanied by orb like phenomenon. I see various shaped orbs that are translucent and have a nucleus like structure. Some are linked together like translucent worms that change shape and morph as I look at them. Sometimes a group of them appear and move as if it is one thing or a flock. If you ever look at a bright light and get an after image it has a similar quality. If I focus on it it moves away but if I don't look directly at them they tend to hover in one spot. Some of them always appear to look the same and are recognizable as individuals. They have a non-local effect which means that they seem to not pay attention to time or space. They appear as if they are floating far away maybe a hundred yard distant and are the size of pumpkins. But as I follow them with my eye they become closer and smaller until they are almost microscopic. Its looks like they are holographic projections coming from inside of my head. recently I have realized that the eyes of my most recent dream visitors look just like these objects. If I look intensely at the sky and concentrate on the space around the objects I start to see another layer of activity that appears to look like the orb phenomenon I have filmed in my cabin. Often when I am laying in bed at night a undulating grayish mist envelops me and causes my body to have sensations like mild electric tingling. It is like getting a chill or goose bumps. I have sensations as if something is lightly tapping my face accompanied with a flash out of the corner of my eye. Every now and then I will wake up at night from a deep sleep and see for a moment a hourglass shaped thing that looks like it is made of luminescent energy fibers hovering next to my bed. It appears to be embedded in a web of similar fibers. This experience is accompanied by a rush of information that I can't comprehend or articulate, like feeling oneness with all things and knowing all things, but it only last for a moment.

I know what you may be thinking, "get out of there man!" but Its not like I can get away from myself. Although these experiences may sound rather disturbing I am not really frightened. My belief is that negativity feeds on fear so I keep a positive sense of wonder about all these experiences. so far nothing too scary has poked me. Also if the spirit world is real, and I know that it is, it is all around us at all times, in fact right now we are in it, we are a part of it, most of us just cant see it. So my rational is that there is not much I can do beyond protect myself with positive intentions now that I have opened up to it.

I guess there may be a lesson to all of this...Be careful what you ask for.

I am going to investigate this phenomenon further and I am curious if anyone else out there is seeing or experiencing anything like this. I will be posting my videos and photos with the orbs in them for you to investigate soon. And I will relate some of my experiences with these dream visitors to you.
