This Dream also took place back in 06-07. It came about not long after "The Ancients" dream. The themes are very similar - animal-spirits passing on things to me. I never noticed it until now but the knife in "The Ancients" that appeared in my hand is the same knife used in this dream. I've never had a transference in dreams like that, where I've carried an object from one to another. Very interesting. Well, hope you all enjoy "The Wolf"...

I’m walking along a tree-spotted hillside with someone, when out of nowhere; a black wolf appears to the left of us. He’s growling at us from his hillside. Whoever was with me ran away. The wolf didn’t flinch – he was obviously after me.
The Wolf and I made deep eye contact – in which I “expressed” to him that I did not want to fight. He took off down the hill towards me as fast as he could – but stopped short directly in front of me. In that glance we shared he expressed to me that what was about to happen was necessary – almost “destiny”. This was to be faced right now – I had no choice in the matter…so I pulled out a knife and readied myself.
He lunged at me, knocking me down. He clawed at me and bit me unforgivingly. Throughout this attack I was repeatedly plunging my blade deep into him. Eventually I had stabbed him enough. I sat crossed-legged, holding the Wolf in my lap and arms. As I held his head up we shared a final glance – in which he seemed to have passed on to me part of himself. I gave him thanks and plunged my blade deep into his heart and twisted – the Wolf gave one last howl that shook the entire hillside. What the Wolf has passed on to me, I’m still trying to figure out.

Dear Mike,

What a beautiful, powerful dream! Reading it, I was amazed that you did not turn and run, but faced your fear and had the strength and focus to overcome the wolf. That says a lot about your character.

The totem of the wolf represents the Higher Self, the teacher, learning and wisdom. Your dream feels like an initiation of sorts, and though you can't figure out exactly what was passed on, I wouldn't worry about it. In some sense, it doesn't matter if your conscious minds "knows" what was transferred, because its there, it happened, and it will continue to be integrated into your being.

My totem animal is a wolf as well.

Blessings,
Marisa
