Outbranching...What kinds of Crazy Events would you like to see?

We have quite a bit of freedom about the types of events we hold. So far, we have had an open-panel discussion, a film viewing w/discussion, and a ritual. What else would you like to see?
At tonight's event, one lady talked about her love of doing street theater. I think this could be a really fun direction to explore! Flash mobs are fun too. What about dance parties? What else?
If you have directions you'd like to explore with Evolver Asheville, please let us know! Especially let us know if you want to help plan something like one of these!

plant spirit medicine ceremonies
Hi:
I have just joined Evolver and look forward to getting to know like-minded people.
I wanted to let this community know that there will be three plant spirit medicine workshops Oct 29-Nov. 1, at a retreat center outside of Asheville. Our group works with several Peruvian curanderos who travel to the states to do ceremony with us twice yearly. If you or anyone else would like more information they can contact me at jeffreyscott22@hotmail.com. I have created a notice of this event.

Sorry, didn't get this message in time. I need to check this board more often. Sounds amazing! Did you have good attendance?

Asheville Evolver
Hey y'all,
I just joined Evolver.......I'd love to do some street theatre as well. Asheville is a perfect place to get busy and experiment- my favorite area is probably gender theatre. Or something! Hope to meet some of you all soon.

very cool
Street theatre sounds very fun! I'd love to hear more about it. This Saturday, we are having an Evolver Asheville Meet and Greet, maybe we could talk about this then?

currency discussions
hi,
i just joined evolver as well as just moving here from LA a couple of weeks ago. (i found out about the group at the 2012 screening in LA, and have read daniel's three books). anyway, one idea that struck me in the film was the proposition of alternative currecies. i'd be keen on a discussion or forum on that topic. Money has always seemed an obscure and alien conundrum to me; perhaps this is why the topic in the film seemed so fresh and unexpected. one reason my wife and i came to this area is that it seems a great place to "dig in" and begin preparing for the cataclysms and transformations to come- the alternative currency seems like a part of the parcel, so to speak.

alternative currency
Hi Jason,
Have you heard of The Zeitgeist Movement or The Venus Project? I like what they propose - a resource-based economy. That is, instead of using any symbols to represent resources we just use the resources themselves, and live in a way that everyone has the same access to resources that anyone else has.
Check i t out at:

currency stuff in Asheville
Hi!
There are a couple projects in Asheville that I would recommend checking out. One is Asheville LETS which is basically a trading system that is very similar to the timebank idea in the 2012 Time for Change movie. The other is Smoky Mountain Hollars, which is an alternative currency which will be officially released very soon.
This Saturday, we will be having an Evolver Asheville Meet & Greet. I hope you might be able to make it and we could chat about it then.

zeitgeist / venus
I checked out the websites briefly. Both seem interesting, though I think the tone and attitude of the Venus Project gels with me a bit more. I'll need to read much more to really be engaged with it deeply but the first taste was really good. I also was into the ideas expressed in the 2012 Time for Change movie where they're talking about a "currency group" based on service to others. a person volunteers a certain amount of time- say one hour- helping someone else (maybe driving a disabled person to the store or helping an elderly person cook dinner). in exchange, the volunteer recieves a one hour credit which can be used to recieve an hour of help from someone else in the group... help with gardening, picking kids up from school, or whatever. this is currently happening in... Japan maybe? and seems successful.
