We call it 'social media' now, when we suggest media to each other. It doesn't feel very social though.
I'd love to hear what others think 'the future of media' will be for us. It is obvious that most folks consider music and video to be one of the greatest bonding tools and community building glues out there, so the way we consume it should probably looked at.

I like the idea of everyone having a playlist of '5 star' media that they want to actively share with others. I like the idea of places and spaces having systems in place that aggregate all these lists from the people in the space and shuffle them. When a person leaves a space, their list goes with them.
This would allow for the passive participation in media sharing without externalizing the aggregation to some other, probably corporate, entity.
