Hey everybody,
I first want to thank everyone that came out and spent their Saturday night with us at ParkGrounds. I'd also like to thank the good people at ParkGrounds for continuing to let us use their space. It was a lively, fruitful event!

Let's use this space to continue the discussion we had after the screening. There was much that we weren't able to get to in the short amount of time we had. What thoughts does everyone have after letting this information seep in and digest?

Several people mentioned book title swapping and general resource swapping. I'd like to start that off by recommending the following websites for people to continue their own research:

Great dialogue and shared ideas

Thanks to all who came out for the Crash Course last night. I am still marinating on ideas for how to continue the conversation and run with the concepts of building a practical community where we can take action to prepare ourselves for difficult times -- while also maintaining our compassion for our friends and neighbors.

Does anyone have suggestions on future events or meetings towards this aim? Please post your thoughts here!

How do we direct momentum to new audiences?

Thank you Brian, Maya, and all those who continue to make these events happen. Last night, it was interesting to see the diversity of solutions that remain, including flavors of politics hinting at everything from collectivism to isolation. I appreciate that, despite the spectrum of opinions, we are still essentially a "like-minded" community.

What I appreciate about this and the Nassim Haramein showings is that these fact-driven, credentialed folks are substantiating topics formerly reserved for and dismissed as "counter-cultural," esoteric or fringe elements. It shines a light on conversations that some shun—or ridicule, until they become self-evident.

But what can be done to introduce these ideas to fresh ears? I wonder if there are events or ways to expose these notions to those who aren't already convinced of them. For example, I was propelled into fascination with the Mayan Calendar through the Harmonic Convergence Festival in 2003. A music festival was a great platform to attract and instruct the open-minded.

How can we augment these efforts? What can be done to convince or share these topics with others—without proselytizing?

Grass roots?

Thank you again to everyone who came out!I'm sure this was truly eye opening for many!

I'm sure others that were there, myself included, now want to act. We have this information and feel like its our duty to do something with it.

Infiltrating mainstream means everyone doing their part. Sending out emails to personal contact lists with this kind of content and links. Having meetups at your house with friends who generally wouldn't be aware or involved in this. The content of Crash Course is riveting and almost impossible to ignore once you get done with the whole thing.

Of course festivals are always a good place to hold such discussion circles.

What next? Should we start a collective stock pile of stuff? Become familiar with what kind of skills each one of us has and the best way to share those skills with others?

I hope EvolverFest will shine light on a lot of this. I hope to continue with not only presentations and film screenings but workshops on essential survival skills. We ALL have something to offer. I'm optimistic that altruism will prevail if shit hits the fan...

wish i could've been there!

sounds like it was a great event - i'll definitely be catching the full documentary soon so i can be on board with everyone else!

i really like what maya said about the "collective stock pile"...not in a hoarding sense, mind you - but in a "figuring out what unique skills each of us has" way - perhaps we could take a short rest post-festival, and just plan a very low-key evening for the organizing group and anyone interested in joining on that level...we're an awesome little bunch already, and it's clear that we and the people around us are amazingly talented in many ways
