The Medicine of the Planets

For thousands of years, magicians have studied the energies of the planets and their influence on human life. In this Dream Ecology course, we'll connect with the planets through ceremony and dreaming. With shamanic journeys and a ceremonial solar system constructed just for this course, "The Medicine of the Planets" moves beyond astrology into a personal experience of the planets. We'll learn from the planets themselves what gifts and teachings they can offer us, building loving relationships with our nearest neighbors in space.

Inspired by the spirits of the planets, this class is one of several workshops that restore shamanism to its roots in the natural world. The activities we will explore have been suggested by the planets themselves as a way to continue their compassionate care for humans. New and experienced dreamers are invited to explore "The Medicine of the Planets" as we create authentic relationships with these powerful beings.

*A rattle and/or drum
*A journal and pen
*A yoga mat or blanket if you wish to lie down during our dreaming
*A bandana or eye mask
*You are welcome to bring a small stone or medicine piece to place upon the shamanic altar. This could be a piece that resonates with the energy of the planets or simply something that anchors your presence in our group.

Light snacks will be provided. We'll break for lunch, so you may wish to bring a lunch or eat downtown in Roswell. Several restaurants are within walking distance.

Stephen Cavitt trained in cross cultural shamanism with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. A minister with the Circle of the Sacred Earth, a church rooted in indigenous teachings, Stephen is the co-founder and facilitator of the Piedmont Shamanic Circle and currently is apprenticed in the Pachakuti mesa tradition of Peruvian shamanism.
