The Conscious Convergance and the Approach to 2012

Dr Carl Calleman, author of "The Mayan Calaendar", "The Mayan Calendar and Transformation of Consciousness", and "The Purposeful Universe" will make a special presentation at Whole Life Books. The Mayan calendar is soon about to come to a completion and this has given rise to a wave of speculation about what will happen in the years ahead, not the least because of the Hollywood movie "2012." A deeper understanding of this however requires that we have knowledge about how the Mayan calendar organizes time, what the Mayan calendar is and how it is related to the evolution of consciousness. Starting with what is actually known from the ancient Mayan cosmovision this lecture relates events in biological and historical evolution to the Mayan calendar. At the heart of this cosmovision is the Tree of Life, the source of all life and evolution in the universe, which recently by modern science has been shown to have a real existence and is not a mere myth. Based on this what we may expect from the years ahead is discussed with an emphasis of our own roles as co-creators in the process such as for instance in the Conscious Convergence, July 17-18, 2010. For the promise of a new world at the end of the calendar our own intentions will play a critical role.
