February Spore- A New Look At Love

For Evolver Baltimore's Love spore this month, join us for a love and sexuality- based workshop (read description below) on the feminine divine with discussion, music, and poetry to follow.

Also, February 24th happens to be Robin's (my) birthday. So, come and enjoy the vegan cake that the Yabba Pot will be making especially for us.

------

Zen/pagan writer and practitioner, Tom Swiss is going to lead us in a workshop titled, How Not to Flirt With a Goddess:

How Not to Flirt With a Goddess
For the most interesting sort of sacred sexuality practices, you need a partner, which implies going out and trying to make a special connection with someone. Unfortunately mainstream society teaches us men to behave in some amazingly stupid ways to pick up women. We'll discuss some more sane and respectful ways to flirt with self-actualized and aware women. While this workshop is aimed at straight men, much of the advice is universal, and women and gay men are invited to come share their observations and advice.

Afterwards, join us for the ambient soundscapes of Plaeground, http://www.plaeground.com/ with poets Mark Wireman Coburn, Robin Gunkel & Tom Swiss reading.

A New Look at Love

With Valentine’s Day this month, corporations are gearing up to sell us diluted and dated notions of love. While divorce rates soar and traditional gender roles break down, new forms of love and new relationship paradigms are beginning to emerge. It’s time we consider the ever-growing varieties of the age-old subject of amour. Alongside traditional love relationships, do we also need to develop models for sacred and ceremonial sexuality that go beyond familiar ways of relating? And is it possible that we are entering a more heart-centered age, where love and forgiveness will radiate across our damaged earth?

For February’s Spore, get intimate with fellow Evolvers as we discuss the changing dynamics of union, love, and sex as a transformative process to heal the traumas of our world. Local Spores may explore the pleasures and complexities of monogamy versus polyamory, the innate intelligence of the heart, as well as the intentional side of sexuality through Tantra, holistic lovemaking, and healing touch. In this Spore, Evolvers will create a conscious space for vital issues around love and relationships, sex and spirit, to be courted, danced, and embraced.
