Hi everyone in Evolver Calgary,

Having not been involved very much in the group, and as I was out camping last weekend when the monthly Spore took place, I'd like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in furthering the interconnectivity of this community. What I have in mind is just communicating a little more about our intentions and projects that would be relevant to developing more integrated relationships between similarly minded individuals. I feel like there are many of you out there that fit this description, and the group on Evolver has grown by about %30 even since I signed up a couple of months ago!

The ideal of sustainability can be much more readily achieved if only we put our minds to it. So, greetings to all members here, and if you'd like to pursue this a bit further, please feel free to reply to the topic or to me personally. I don't want to intrude on anyone's space, only put my intention out there for anyone interested.

Just to give a couple conversation points, a few projects I have in the works are:

-writing a book on the philosophy of culture (generally speaking)
-many various fiction projects, focusing on consciousness, spirituality, psychedelics, alternative history, and more
-building a tricycle from scratch
-a tentative program for global non-compliance initiatives

Some areas of research that I'm pursuing before taking on as projects:

-aquaponics (combination of hydroponics and aquaculture)
-permaculture and community gardens
-earth-based building techniques

Something I'd really like to get going is a meet-up sort of thing where we can speak face to face, and pursue projects from there. I feel like I've got a lot to offer the world, and it's just not happening by my sitting in the basement all day :)

Well that's all for now, and I hope to meet you all soon,

Peace,

M

Thanks

Thank you for your message to everyone. Those sound like some very admirable projects you have going and are intending on getting started in the future. I love your intention on meeting up with everyone. I have been wanting to get more into permaculture and building techniques as well.

I would be interested in your program for non-compliance. Our spore theme for January is Peace and one of the possibly topics include non-violent activism. If you have something we could work in or something you could talk about from your end that would be great!

Hopefully I will see you at the 2012: Time for Change screening!

Keep up the awesome work,
Matt

Hey Matt

I appreciate your reply...

I plant to attend the screening. I read Breaking Open the Head around 2003.,.. one of the first modern psychedelic books i read besides Terrence McKenna. I'll like to see whatever Daniel Pinchbeck has to offer, along with his contacts. I think he's a main influence behind reality sandwich... good website.

Insofar as I practice non-compliance daily in my own way (mostly in my mind, but it's gotta start somewhere, right?) I'd like to extend my research and perspectives on the issue in any way that I can. What it all comes down to is a sovereign state of being, that, hopefully, we can make communicable to the wider audience generally called society. I would rather that people perceive themselves as individually responsible entities rather than aggregates of a prefabricated social normality.

As far as permaculture goes in my near future, I think I have the opportunity to have a plot at a nearby community garden coming up in the spring. Some friends and I have recently started an aquaponics system that will be permanently food producing, but also give us many healthy seedlings in the spring. There are many home-grown options available for people to take according to their own taste that will ultimately render the centralized power structures who currently control many aspects of the world inert. It's up to us to evolve....

let's start a website!

let's call it evolver!!!!!

Matt...serious... I have a particular gift of gab. I would be more than happy to be involved at the next spore event, that is, after meeting the community at the Time for Change screening...

don't be afraid to contact me... i'm fairly agreeable :)

peace...

M
