Proposal for a model Home Solar System Setup

Hi Evolvers;
Below is the Proposal Letter I wrote to my two friends last summer. However, my friend Joe is presently not able to take on the role of the sponsor. So I put it on the back burner.
If any of you are especially interested in the subject, we might take a new run at it.

Re: Proposal for a model Home Solar System Setup
Hi Chuck;
Last year in November I had emailed you the link with three different
manuals for building ones own home solar system by three different
Home Solar System builders. They are listed on
www.alternativehouseholdenergy.com
1)www.homemadeenergy.com
2)www.homemadepowerplant.com
3)www.Earth4Energy.com
Remember, each manual is under $50. Their slogan says that a home
solar system can be built for $200. You got excited and said that you
are going to buy the manual after Christmas if your finances allow it.
You loved the idea of building your own solar system on your roof and
eliminating your monthly electricity bill.
A couple weeks later I emailed you some websites about building ones
own solar car for getting around in town. You were excited about the
prospect of building an electric solar vehicle as well. If you just
had the money...
Now it is summer and I meanwhile moved in my little rental house.
Because of my indoor garden my monthly electricity bill is around $100
and to eliminate this bill is the next topic on my list.
I've been pondering that the south side of my house would be ideal for
the setup of a solar system. The space between the two south windows
seems ideal for installing some larger solar panels, anchored to the
ground so that they cannot be carried away.
The batteries cannot be placed inside the house, but outside. Maybe in
one of those smaller waterproof plastic sheds, available at Home Depot
and other stores.
It needs to be seen if this is true that it costs only $200 to build
ones own solar system. The plastic shed alone may cost about $200.
When I realized that I'm presently not in a position to finance the
building of my Home Solar System I got the idea to invite a third
participant, somebody who is willing to take on the role of the money
lender/sponsor for this project.
My new friend Joe came to my mind. Joe told me that he is on a similar
humanitarian path than I am and that he has many times helped people
financially by loaning them larger amounts of money without charging
interests.
So I am going to send this letter to Joe too and ask whether he's
interested to have this Home Solar System built for his house by
embodying the third pillar of this project by lending the money to you
and me.
This means in practical terms that you, Chuck, build the model solar
system for my house, then for Joe's house, and for your house. Joe (or
another third person) pays for all materials and expenses. But you
will not get paid for labor. Once the system is running and providing
me with free electricity from the Sun I am able to pay Joe monthly the
amount of my former electricity bill until the money is paid back.
Once your solar system is up and running you too can pay Joe back the
monthly amount that you save. And Joe himself eliminates his
electricity bill too once his solar system is set up and running.
If it comes to an agreement between the three of us I would next need
to inform my landlord about the project and ask for his agreement. But
I'm sure that's no problem.
Should I ever move out I will either take the Solar System with me or
offer it for sale to the landlord or the new tenant. In this case I
would want to commission you, Chuck, to build me a new one from the
money received.
When it comes to the actual building of the three home solar systems I
can help with layperson tasks, such as assembling. But I would not
want to climb on the roof. And Joe may also want to offer his
assistance in the actual building process.
The project would be seen as accomplished once all three home solar
systems are set up and running. We may want to document our project by
creating a video/picture manual. If the three of us are happy with the
results we may want to ponder how we could snowball our model system.
In all of this I also have in mind my next spiritual Lightworker
assignment which is the building of Dome Village Katrina. It is an
apprenticeship program for the building of a model of six small
self-sustaining dome homes that are easy, cheap, and fast to build.
Self-sufficiency is the keyword. Once I have gathered my four
co-apprentices we will have to decide what sort of solar system we
want to install, either one for each dome or a larger Solar System
that provides for all five domes, plus community dome.
If you, Chuck, are interested we dome builders could – when the time
comes – hire you to build the solar system or even just as our
advisor.
Conclusions: We started talking about the Home Solar System in
November. It is now Summer and my dream of eliminating the monthly
electricity bill is still alive. What about you? Are you ready for
inspired action? On our own it may remain a dream, but if we are three
powerful human creators who put their minds and resources together we
could bring a great project to fruition and set an example for others.
All of this would eventually also lead to the building of your solar vehicle.
The next step would be that you, Chuck, decide which one of the three
manuals Joe should order through their website. Joe would then forward
the manual to you and to me. Even though I'm a layperson I want to
read the manual to gain an overview. I think living in a new way on
Earth includes generating ones own energy/electricity and learn as
much as possible about it.
If you both are interested we should sit together and discuss the
project and see what needs to be modified.
If you are not interested, please drop me a note. I see the project
also as an opportunity to practice networking. As I said in my
newsletter the time for action towards sustainability is now.
Light&Love, Karin
