A Day of Action for Community Economics

First two proverbs "Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," and then "until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter."

Regardless of the fears of the unknown and unknowable, we have to actually act fron one onto many, toward defining an authentically progressive culture, and a very large piece of that is in defining the nature of our economics. We are the lions and we need to act in such a way to determine our own history. This is apart from being herded and exploited as a commodity to provide trophies for the hunters.

Taking the open source process as a guide, we want to establish a point of action to begin. The research and design work for a real time community exchange has been pretty much been completed. What needs to be done next to actually start signing people up and establishing the basic utilities of the Community Reserve Exchange(CRX). It is guaranteed that there will be problems along the way, and that given the base knowledge and acquired experience we can develop solutions. To establish the CRX we will need to only use the basic pieces, to which several other objectives and functions can be added as we grow.

The most basic pieces will be a directory, a classified, basic transfer forms, and designating a few people to put this together. This will at the first step mean presenting a form that people can fill out that gives their contact information, what people have in the way of skills and goods to offer in trade and some statement of value relative to the Community Reserve Notes. The most recent draft of the concept is posted at http://www.economics.arawakcity.org/node/699 The description in more detailed than how we will begin.

Please, attend if you can and also tell people who may be interested. We will be continuing the sign in process, so people can just sign up later.
