Greetings fellow Houston area Evolvers!

Just want to pop in briefly and say that when I first joined, we didn't yet have an Evolver Houston group, and I am delighted to have my close friend and spirit-brother Mark Myers tell me that there is one now :D

I also wanted to say, we have a LOT of energy in this community, lets not be disheartened that we didn't all come together at once at the time of the first event - more and better should follow :)

Lets get it together, bring to focus our varied talents and interests, and bring something wonderful to pass!

Yours always,
Snortle

Same here...

Thanks for the comment Snortle. When I first joined, I thought I might have to spearhead the creation of a Houston Chapter.

I too missed the first event but look forward to great things.

Greetings Friends

I had a dream recently. I was floating in the great empty void. I spotted a point of light in the distance. As I came close the light was emanating from the chrysalis of a Monarch butterfly. As I watched the shell began to crack open. Instead of revealing a butterfly, the true source of the illumination was revealed...a brightly glowing Golden Egg.

The Golden Egg is a good omen for a new beginning.

Lets Plan a Meet & Greet Event

Greetings Fellow Houston Evolvers,

I'd like to meet some of the Evolver folks in our area. Lets see if we can plan something. I have a big house in Webster, and would be glad to host something. Or we could find a place in the city. Maybe just an informal Meet & Greet for starters?

I'm in West Houston so maybe

I'm in West Houston so maybe an "informal" gathering in a centralized location for starters. I've only been here for a very few (4) years and open to suggestions as to location. Maybe a day next week?

Clarification

Healer,

What would you consider a centralized location?

No worries about informal, I doubt we could be formal if we tried, heh.

In the interest of being more familiar (and banishing any spirit of formality lol), I'd like to offer you some personal background:

I'm a father and husband first and foremost - two girls, who will be 17 and 10 in the coming spring and summer. I'm happily married to a very tolerant and forgiving woman who has had the patience to remain with me through 17 years.

I'm an artist, with some formal education in the topical space; Mark is one of my former professors (digital and commercial arts, primarily). He remains a teacher to me, and is otherwise like a brother to me in every respect.

I am a Buddhist by way of philosophy; and a Shaman by way of practicum. I have taken the Buddha's instructions to 'test his every saying through practice' to heart. I hail from a predominantly Vajrayanish/Tantric influence in my Buddhism.

Due to my Shamanic orientation I am necessarily concerned with various entheogens.

In my art I am predominantly focused on imagery; painting, drawing, and digital arts; though I also indulge in some sculpture (paper mache and wood carving).

Professionally I'm something of a computer and networking wizard; I have been at it since the early '80s.

I have a fascination for ethnic musical instruments, experimental musical instruments, and music in general, especially that music which is highly diversified and incorporates beats and phrases from all over the world.

LOL I should incorporate that text in my profile ;)

Hopefully that makes me a little less of an unknown ;)

Cheers!

Looks like we have a good

Looks like we have a good group here. If one of us who knows Houston well enough (Ive only been here a couple of years as well) can come up with a time and place (preferably weekend) to meet up sometime soon, we can have some good conversations and friendships going.

First of all, I hope each of

First of all, I hope each of you and yours are safe after the ice storm yesterday.

In fact, it was while watching the news coverage of the weather that I realized where Webster was. No doubt a good place for a meeting. But I'm on Memorial dr. between Dairy Asford and Eldridge. What I was thinking was a coffee shop or something of (roughly) equal distance to each of us. Webster just seems a bit distant but if it's a weekend meet and greet like Sandeep suggests, then I guess distance is no problem.
