THE CONCEPT:

Let's get together and celebrate abundance, not scarcity! In a gift economy, people freely give without the expectation of receiving anything in return, and freely receive without the obligation of paying for what they get. When we're in a state of giving, we're opening up a great deal of space around us, which breeds the opportunity for receiving more. Rather than slumping our shoulders about our current economy, which embraces profit and consumption over human value, let's get together and celebrate the offerings that we can make to one another!

All of us have skills, ideas, information, and items that others can benefit from. Sharing the value that each of us represents can translate into creating a healthier, happier, richer, and more vibrant community.

WHAT TO DO:

Bring absolutely anything you feel like sharing. You can bring used clothes or books, a dish to share, handmade items, copies of your favorite quotes or poems, music, hugs, good intentions, supportive words, or even smiles. Use your imagination. Even if you would just like to come and check everything out, you're welcome to! Give what you will. Receive what you will. Go home with as few or as many gifts as you would like to receive. Anything that is left over will be donated to charity.

There will also be an opportunity on hand for all people who are interested in giving their time, or any kind of service, to others who might be in need. A board will be available for you to post whatever it is you feel open to sharing with others.

Suggested Donation: $5
