This is the Naples, Florida Evolver Spore, a small but growing group of evolutionaries in the Naples, Florida area.
Evolver Naples, FL
We are a small but growing group of evolutionaries residing in the Southwest Florida area who are committed to building
a community of like-heart-minded individuals for effecting
conscious creative social change.
We are connected to many of the local consciously evolutionary establishments in the area, particularly Omvibe Yoga, and will be offering events and services in conjunction with some of them. These will include film nights, roundtable discussions, yoga retreats & workshops, satsangs, and more.
The second Evolver Naples meeting will be Wednesday, August 19th,
8-10 pm at Omvibe Yoga Studio in Naples. The theme of the meeting is "The Shamanic Panic," and we will be watching and discussing a film on Shamanism with discussion to follow. We will begin with a brief opening ceremony and meditation, and then have a raw food potluck, so please bring a dish. If you have anything you would like to present to the group on this theme, please contact me, Allowah. ~ Namaste ~

In tribal societies, shamans are healers and visionary leaders who go through dangerous initiations to gain knowledge from the spirit world. Modern culture repressed and dismissed shamanism as archaic and irrational. Today, our society seems increasingly irrational, unable to change its course in the face of looming environmental and economic catastrophe. Meanwhile, shamanic practices such as soul retrieval, journeys with sacred plants, and ecstatic dance are gaining popularity. What meaning and value do these techniques have for us today?
