hello!!!!!
one of the things i am committed to co-creating in my return to philadelphia is a strong collective of women!
i often feel that women don't know how to approach women they don't already know; there is some sort of veil around our sphere of existence that prohibits us from communing and counseling each other as we once did indigenously. we are all so powerful and have so many gifts to offer one another. i believe that if we start working together, creating community, we can achieve so much more in our lives and our communities.
i have a strong desire to help create an intentional women's council.
what will this look like? here's some ideas:
full moon/new moon intentional circle (potluck gathering, intentional circle where we offer something we want to "let go" of or create for the following month's moon cycle.)
events where we each can bring our talents to each other (classes, dance parties, etc etc etc!!)
healing circles
fundraisers for charities
what ideas do YOU have? who's on board to help co-create this? we need each other, sisters.....let's band together.

Full Moon Gathering Jan 30???

We've missed New Moon. Want to try a Full Moon party next Sat, Jan 30? We just need a location. I'd be happy to teach yoga, lead a meditation, cook....whatever, really. I also have a new moon event...which I am interested in offering monthly at studio 34, if they are interested. Here's the thought....I would encourage woman to wear white to raise the vibration. We would start off with a circle, where everyone would pull out a piece of paper (with all of our aspirations from the previous month), and we go around the circle and discuss them. Did we accomplish these things? If so, why? I not, why? Etc. Then we do a yoga class to center and create space, finishing with yoga nidra (a deep sleep relaxation exercise) to plant the seeds of intention for the month ahead. At the end of class, everyone has a private journaling session to set the stage for the month ahead....and the cycle continues.

I would love to be a part of this!
The Full Moon gathering sounds lovely, although I don't know that I would make it this month. I have some space at the reiki school every other week for group counseling, as soon as I know I can make the rent for it, probably Feb. 14 (lunar new year, and you know, Valentines day). I would be happy to invite this group into the space for some sisterhood goodness! It would not hold a large number of people, but we can still use it. Just let me know and I will keep some time blocked out for it. I have tons of things to share, as I'm sure we all do!
It's funny, for most of my life I was one of the guys, but after the past year I have developed such close bonds with women, and that has such a valuable part of continued growth and healing. I have a group of women that I met in school, and we all underwent through major transformation together. We continue to support each other through an email group- someone has an issue, any issue at all, and all respond with the most loving and insightful responses. If this would be of interest, I could facilitate a yahoo group or something, so that people who cannot be there physically at the gatherings can still benefit.
Anyway, it's a great idea!!

i ABSOLUTELY want to do something this weekend, except i'm moving on sunday and things will be too incredibly full for me....
sorry to sort of drop the ball on this! it's been a hectic month for me just moving back to a temporary space, studying, and having to move again for feb.
can we aim for next month? perhaps by then we can lock down a venue. we should see if Studio 34 would be willing to host.....

i have created a facebook page for our event and and event page for our next one, which is on March 15th from 7-10 pm. the lovely stephanie has offered to host this gathering in her home at 700 n.3rd st.

bring something for our potluck, an intention of something you'd like to manifest for the upcoming month (a reading, something you wrote, some inspiration, etc) for our circle, and an ~open~ heart.
please be sure to speak with one of the admins about the intention of the event before coming, and if you are bringing friends, make sure they know what we will be doing as well.
please be timely because we do not want to interrupt the ceremony aspect of this circle :]
the new moon circle sprouted at last month's SPORE, and the intention of these events is to create warm, open, loving community amongst women (women's council), so we ask that you come in a good way.

Hello lovely women,
I am a fellow spore goer (when I can make it - I missed the last one) -- and I have been hosting Philly Red Tent Temples since Nov 09. Next week will be our 17th consecutive gathering. I started hosted them at The Reiki School + Clinic where I work, and after a few months started rotating them to different women's homes each month. I bring supplies, make soup, and facilitate. When I move (hopefully in next few months, likely to Fishtown), I plan to have a standing Red Tent Temple space there for the monthly.
The intention is for women to come together, just be, rest, reflect, nourish, nurture, share...they are always on or near the new moon, and we have optional circle time where we plant "new moon seeds" for ourselves for the coming month. The next is Tues March 16th 6-11pm --- I would love to have you there if you are interested! :)

Rest, nourish, paint, sing...We will have soup, altar space, music, and all sorts of items that you are welcome to explore for your well-being. ***This is not a social gathering per say, but rather a place to simply "be" and to bond in quietness, song, or sharings.....a deep magical stillness happens. This is a place for restoration, remembrance, and wholeness.****
