November Spore - 2012 theme

THE EVENING'S LINEUP

This month’s Spore will serve as a “counter-screening” to Sony Pictures’ “2012” world-catastrophe film that premieres the same week, with our event focusing on 2012 as a meme for exploring the possibilities of positive cultural transformation, rather than as an apocalyptic scenario.

The night will begin with a short intro to Evolver, and a 10-15 minute screening of a few short movie trailers on 2012-related films to frame the subject matter, including:

- “2012: Time for Change,” directed by Joao Amorim and starring “2012” author & Evolver co-founder Daniel Pinchbeck
- Disinfo’s “2012: Science or Superstition,” produced by Gary Baddeley
- a short video presentation by bestselling author John Major Jenkins

After framing the issues with these short videos, we'll move into the experiential part of the evening with a 10 minute meditation ushering us into our light bodies with the ethereal accompaniment of a live harpist, followed by two galactivating presentations:

presentation by Ariana of Aurelia, Ambassador of the Alaerian Consciousness (30-45 minutes)

We are stepping into a golden age in human history...an era of conscious co-creation with the One. The moment has come to unlock our imaginations and to collectively start to imagine the world we want to live in - to dream without limit! If we want a peaceful world, then we must imagine a world at peace, where everyone has a place to live and food to eat, where the earth is healed and treated with the love and respect she deserves. It is only when we start to focus on what we want to CREATE rather than our problems, that we will see significant change. This inspirational talk will shed some light on the beautiful future that awaits us all as we step through the 2012 portal and will give some pointers to aid in the personal and collective awakening process.

A multimedia presentation by visionary artist, author and filmmaker Davin Infinity

We'll close the night, as always, with Ananda's low-frequency harmonic vibrating sound floor healing music, followed by some good old fashioned hangin' out, for those night owls that like to stay late.

OPTIONAL, BUT FUN:

Come dressed in your 'next-dimensional' best... dress like it's 2012 and you're going to the cosmic party! Just make sure it's comfortable enough to sit and meditate in :)

ABOUT THE 2012 THEME

Where will you be when the 5,125 year Long Count Calendar of the Classical Maya ends on December, 21, 2012? Will you be hiding in an underground cave from global cataclysm and magnetic polar reversal? Will you be entering a multidimensional realm of hyperspace triggered by mass activation of the pineal gland? Will you be picking up the pieces of a ruined world or dancing the night away at the party at the end of time?

Considering that nobody knows what’s going to happen in 2012, the end of the Mayan Calendar functions as a tremendously intriguing meme upon which we can project our hopes and fears, dreams and desires. Hollywood has now offered up a massive collective shadow projection in the form of a $250 million disaster epic that takes the aesthetics of annihilation to a new pitch of perfection. Paradoxically, this doom-riddled blockbuster could create a great opening to offer an alternative vision of what 2012 could be for our planet. Potentially, 2012 could represent the coming-to-consciousness of the human species, in which we take responsibility for our role as agents of conscious evolution.

A rising grassroots movement now realizes we can no longer expect governments, corporations, or any outside authority to create the beautiful world we long to live in. We have to do it ourselves. This growing network of Evolvers, Burners, Bioneers, Transition Towners, and others are developing new cooperative networks that can help heal our planet while providing sustainable solutions to the disastrously unsustainable economic and political systems that disempower people, keeping them asleep.
