Explore The Fine Art of Tea in Documentary Film “All In This Tea” On December 19
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (December 1, 2009) --- HopeDance Films will screen ALL IN THIS TEA Saturday, Dec 19 at 7pm at the SLO Library, Osos and Palm streets in San Luis Obispo. The suggested donation is $7.
The feature documentary follows world-renowned American tea importer, David Lee Hoffman, to some of the most remote regions ofChina in search of the finest, handmade teas in the world.
Hoffman is obsessed: during his youth he spent four years with Tibetan monks in Nepal, which included a friendship with the Dalai Lama, and was introduced to some of the finest of teas. Unable to find anything but insipid tea bags in the U.S., Hoffman began traveling to China, the homeland of tea. There, he struggles against language barriers and Byzantine business codes to convince the Chinese that the farmers make better tea than the factories and that their craft should be honored and preserved.
San Luis Obispo County-based tea producers Dragon Pearl Tea, SLO Chai and Swan Sisters will be pouring tea during the showing, and healthy snacks will be available.
