Hi All

I'm not sure if this group has gone kaput? I know it's hard to make momentum. I'm sorry to say that I personally could never seem to make it to the Gasworks potlucks over the summer. Thanks to Jay for the attempt.

Anywho, Spores. Is there any interest here? Anyone have a vision?

I guess October's topic is "Thought for Food"
-Just in case any of you are not aware, don't have a green thumb & want one!
Check out Seattle Tilth in Wallingford area. They do great classes on gardening, etc. & I think an amazing resource for Seattlites.

-Bellow is a link to a recent NPR piece on "In Defense of Food', In case your interested.

2012- November Spore topic; I read on Vancouver site that November is on 2012. The spore is scheduled for Nov. 11. If anyone has a spark to attempt a talk on that night send me a message. Maybe we can spin together something interesting. If not & you are interested in the subject, be advised that Carl Johan Calleman & Barbara Hand Clow will be doing a talk at East West Bookshop that following Saturday, the 14th!

There *will* be an October meeting!

Thomas, a more formal announcement is forthcoming - hopefully very soon - but the last couple days have seen a flurry of organizational activity, and several of us have put together a meeting for next Wednesday the 21st.

When: 7-10 p.m.
Where: Joel's home, 5507 Kenwood Pl N #305
Where's that: Ten blocks north of "downtown" Wallingford, one block west of Zoka cafe, across the street from Tangletown Elysian pub, on the #16 bus line
Rough agenda: First hour introductions and planning for special November event; second hour on Food for Thought with presentations by (at least) Paul and Lance; third hour socializing
BYO / Potluck snacks and refreshments.
