Igniting the New Planetary Culture in Sydney

Dear Sydney Evolvers,

Over the past three years, Evolver has helped to birth a transformational
movement with its social network Evolver.net and web magazine Reality
Sandwich. Over 30 Evolver grassroots groups have sprung up (with more to
come), hosting monthly “Spore” gatherings like the ones here in our city.
These events address important subjects ignored by the mainstream, such as
gift economies, shamanism, renewable energy, 2012, and alternative healing
practices. Here in Sydney, we have seen our Spores serve as
catalysts and support systems for people who see the direct connection
between consciousness expansion, a healthy environment, and social change.
We've been deeply affected by the appreciation we've received, and by the
notion that Evolver Sydney is truly making a difference.

Today, though, I'm writing on behalf of Evolver because we're turning to you

After years of publishing its sites and facilitating the Spores on a
shoestring budget, Evolver has reached a point where they can no longer pay
their basic costs. Evolver will have to radically contract or cease
operations without membership revenue. If you find that what we offer is
valuable to your life -- if after considering what we have accomplished and
our intentions for the future, you find that it is in your personal best
interest that this project thrive -- please support it immediately and
generously so we can continue our work in producing transformative media and
building a global network of offline communities based on alternative
cultural values.

I know times are lean for many of you and resources can be scarce. However
that is even a better reason to support this project, as Evolver intends to
offer and develop mechanisms for exchanging value that are complementary to the current financial system -- although ironically we do need income in
order to do this properly.
