Greetings fellow Evolvers!!! : )
Having just wrapped up the first successful world wide Evolver conference call with Daniel and Jonathan, I can finally begin to see our collective future! And I can’t begin to describe how psyched I am to get our Toronto Spore on her feet!!! I have spoken with Jonathan and let him know that I will happily take on a role as administrator for the Toronto Regional (hopefully with the help of some of you eager folk!) and within the next couple of days, weeks and months get this thing up and running like a well-oiled machine!
To open a spore, we need a ceremony. Or, at the very least, a “Meet and Greet!” I have an idea that I would like to propose. The timing just seemed to work itself out perfectly for me, and I hope some, or all of you, can find a way to make it work for yourselves as well. I truly believe that with a little planning we can bring this to fruition, but if not, I would LOVE to hear anyone else’s ideas about how we can initiate this spore. Please don’t be shy; any idea is a good idea, at this point.
About a month ago, I set out to plan myself a solo backpacking trip into the epic woodlands of Algonquin Provincial Park. For those of you who are not familiar with the park, it is a massive space of land set aside for us to enjoy and to marvel at the wonders of nature. It is situated about 4 -5 hours directly north of our fair city.
Though I have fairly extensive hiking and camping experience, I set out to make this a relatively easy, no frills trip, where after a long winter, I could just go and hang out with Mother Nature, in all her glory and reconnect with her and with myself. 4 days, alone in the woods. Scary, right? Right. But that was exactly the point. I am at a point in my personal journey were I am looking deeper inside myself. Looking to conquer or at the very least understand some of my fears. And to try to get a handle on my own personal struggles and insecurities. What better way to do that then to get back to where we all started from (IMO)?
Though I obviously think a solo trip would be wonderful and warranted for me, I would like to openly invite you all to come and share in this experience.
I have been following Evolver and Reality Sandwich since its inception. I was lucky enough to meet Daniel when he was in Toronto celebrating both his birthday AND the official release of the Reality Sandwich website. We took a yoga class together and as a group, discussed many different topics that he covered in his books. I came out of that 2 day affair feeling like I had a greater purpose. Like there was SO much more I needed to connect to. To try and wrap my head around.
I have been passively following the websites over the past 2 years, until recently, when the topic of a shamanic retreat in Peru came up. Though that particular event never manifested, it was the catalyst I needed to sorta’ shake the cobwebs out and buckle in for a long strange trip. I started following RS and Evolver more closely. (Almost) everything I read made SO much sense and just the whole idea of bringing together all these sharp minds and ideas was so powerful to me. It is time. This is my calling. It’s our call to action. Our call to arms, if you will.
I emailed Jonathan regarding setting up a Toronto spore and he encouraged me. So here I am, and it just so happens that my epic little camping /hiking trip falls on the same dates as the next evolver spore involving dreams! (April 14th – 20th.) What better way to open your mind then to sleep under the stars!? Baltimore is already on the bandwagon and has set up a spore camping trip for the same approximate dates.
So Evolvers, I invite you all to get in on this action. Maybe you are a veteran woodsman/woman and can teach us something we didn’t know? Maybe it will be your first time out in the woods over night? I think we can all take so much away from this. In fact, with a little more brainstorming, we could probably use this trip as the launching pad for our Toronto Spore. It can be our first ritual! The cutting of the ribbon! The opening of the floodgates!
I can already think of many ways to make this trip inexpensive and a great success, but I would need us to bang our heads together and come up with some concrete plans and ideas. I know the basics, now we need to elaborate; this trip is 2 weeks away, just like the next universal spore meeting. I think that in 2 weeks time, if a few of us get some ideas together, we can launch The Toronto Spore in that same period of time, or like I said, at the very least plan a meet and greet.
So, what do you all say???
Please, let me know thoughts, ideas, even if you just want to say “hi”, etc…. I am all ears. Let’s make this happen, gang!
We are the ones we've been waiting for.
With much love and warm regards,
Gypsy Jay

Meet and Greet
I love the outdoors and used to do a lot of camping in my youth. However, at age 24 I was diagnosed to having some allergies to nature. Although untested officially, I'm still optimistic of how intense my allergies might be; but I'll be equipped with an arsenal of allergy-suppressants if invited. I'm really excited in what Evolver is trying to do and would like to be contacted if there is a Toronto meeting, Jack
