Mirror Bemused

From out of the mirror that I face
Seems the witch’s spell it has been graced
For the image it doth displace
Is not for want of more beauty’s place

Mind perplexed to know its truth
For ages scourge is bemused
Lost are the natural traces to give glues
That this body’s warrant is due

To whom is the advantage gained?
When from eyes of others glance it remains
Is this the cost for some unspoken claim?
That has garnered this life to its stain

I beseech the unseen mystical power
That holds this glory in isolated tower
That this beauty be shared as were it a flower
For times passage has made it sour
