Under Cover of Lightning

Hot, wet, stringy, soppy
fur caught in the rain
Jungle whispers, ghosts on a storm,
plead for me to listen
So, speak
Gift me with your guilts and misfortunes
Or, for a glorious change, share
gypsy secrets,
warriors crying in shame of battle,
dark mares flying the night
despite the crash and thunder,
dreams of puissant priestess
engaging charms, manifestations
to conjure peace
and excitement
Voices we exchange,
howls into this ageless wind,
lost,
melted into crayon streaks,
can not matter,
can only touch us
with full consent
Any less is but failing memories,
beyond the tongue of commerce
or idle conversation
So tell
Bring me in,
if just for this potent moment of
wild and calm
I hear stories shared at such an interlude
become the manna of myth,
feed we who hunger for the seed
of the storm,
soaked in dissolving shame
to generate magick
