New here, hope this is relevant to this group.
I often have positive thoughts about the day when the government will stop intruding into our consciousness and allow we the people to explore spirituality in the privacy of our own homes in any way we choose.
As a teen in the 70's, I used quite a few hallucinogenics, but I was young and tho I did have many "spiritual" moments, it was basically for recreational use. The drug tried to reach me, but I was not listening.
Now 50 years old and on a different path, I once again wish to try certain psychedelics for strictly spiritual use, but living in the "freest country in the world", I am not allowed access to medicines which would allow me to explore my own spirituality.
Many of us do not have the opportunity to travel to foreign lands to be with shaman plus we may live in small towns where access to these "teachers' is not really available.
I think of a world in which the government will not only allow us to explore our true inner selves, but actually encourage it for a better tomorrow.

but one where it seems that if you are responsible and keep relatively quiet about your activities, you can explore entheogens quite easily in the comfort of your home. Might I suggest a syrian rue and mimosa hostilis ayahuasca analog, or even a san pedro cactus. All can be found with a little searching.

that entheogens are illegal and drugs (booze and tobacco)that keep you sedated, stupid, fearful are not only legal but promoted and very, very profitable to big business. If you could raise your awareness with entheogens you would realize that you don't need to smoke or drink - or use "ethical" drugs. Very unprofitable to the PTB. You may also realize that this country ain't so damn free...

Salvia Divinorum is an entheogen that is legal in many states. You can get it online at salviazone.com . You may want to learn more about this stuff before using it. It's VERY powerful and unlike any other halucinagen. That being said, l also do agree that it is a terrible shame that the government has to intrude in our lives. Salvia is nothing like mushrooms.

Salvia is certainly unlike anything else in the psychonautical armamentarium ... Many find it interesting, almost all find it intense, but few like it and/or come back. There are much more interesting (and reliably pleasant) legal/semi legal plants out there, such as the various unregulated mescaline-containing cacti, or even amanitas (although they are more of a deleriant than a psychedelic.) it is unfortunate that due to legal circumstances salvia is marketed in a widespread way and a lot of people get hold of it and figure since it is legal "it cant be that hardcore" ... Lol, yes, it can. And it is not psychedelic in any way reminiscent of classical 5-HT2a drugs like L, mushrooms, and mescaline ... It is a serious dissociative with a unique and complex pharmacology totally unlike any other drug we have.

Ive tried alot of synthetic drugs that are quite simalar to the real ones, in example theres a syth drug out now that is as good as a hit of excstasy, but the roll is a little shorter. Its a great roll though and I have had some of the most spiritual and metaphysical moments on it. Its called euphoria, on the package it says it a bath salt and shouldnt be consumed but thats just the loophole for selling it. You can definately find it online.Re

I believe your referring to 4-Methylmethcathinone or commonly known as Mephedrone, which is a a synthetic Stimulant/Euphoriant/Entactogen. It seems to be similar in effects to methcathinone, which is is found naturally in the plant: Catha edulis(Khat)
Sounds like an interesting substance, although there have been reported deaths associated with Mephedrone, I personally would be cautious when considering this one, especially considering the low dosage required to get an effect, one could possibly overdose if one was unaware of how little was required.

Watch out for all of these supposed "legal highs," particularly ones that are known only by some brand name and that don't give you any specific information as to what compounds are involved. Most of the compounds in question can be found in pure form with a little effort, albeit a little more effort than the flashily advertised "bath salts" and "plant foods" &c. (most of which are various sorts of substituted cathinone derivatives ... which do not have a great track record regarding health and safety) ... and even then, being that they are relatively unknown, there are serious dangers involved, but taking something of which you do not even know the chemical composition is seriously foolish. There is a lot of good info on the net about the better known chemicals, such as Mephedrone, which you should peruse before trying these drugs. People taking stuff that they don't know about in ignorant ways is how people get hurt and/or die, and the subsequent media attention draws the eye of law enforcement and subsequently ruins the party for all.
(Mephedrone doses are actually pretty high, Edward, more than 100mg usually ... You are thinking of MDPV, which is active in very low doses of only a few mg. Unfortunately when you are buying sketchy "bath salts" and such, you don't know what you are getting!)

Furthermore, things like 4-methylmethcathinone and MDPV are not psychedelic. There are a few good psychedelic RC's out there that remain legal, or at least not specifically legal (but nonetheless prosecutable under the Controlled Substane Analogue Act, although this is a rare occurrence), and still circulate, but they are best kept quiet and amongst people who have some understanding and respect for them, because when they get into the hands of stupid thrill seeking kids, that is when trouble inevitably follows (google "Operation Web Tryp")

I didnt know some of what you told me. Thanks for sharing some info with me on these legal drugs. I will look into it.
I knew that some of the drugs were pretty sketchy... Ive heard through some very reliable sources that some people who have ingested some of the "trial" legal drugs were reported to have been (in short and un-sweet terms) burning up from the inside out.

As long as you are discrete and smart, which I'm sure you are, you will find plenty of cool people willing to hook you up with mushrooms and LSD.
This stuff is everythwere! you just gotta know where to look.
Whether it's legal or not, the goverment cannot stop us from having the life journey we want. :)

try being 50 years old and living in a small southern town that you moved to, did not grow up in. On occasion I will mention how I would like to try psychedelics and everyone looks at me as if I am going to burn in flames in the fire of hell. I try to discuss people like Graham Hancock etc, how no matter where you live on earth or your cultural upbringing people have seemingly the same experience and see similar things - they just think I am looking for an excuse to get "high".
I hate the fact that when I younger and did have access to shrooms and lsd, I wasted it by using it for strictly recreational use. Even then I felt how all was one etc....but did not use it for learning purposes.
Now I sit in a small rural town, trying on occasion to grow shrooms to no avail......wishing how I could go back in time and use what I jad taken in the past for more spiritual reasons. Yet again, I have to watch that as every experience I had was for a purpose, so I just have to take things as they are. I will try again in the summer for some shrooms, but have yet to have any luck.
Everything happens for a reason tho, so whatever will be, will be (hey, sounds like an old doris day song)

Your story sounds just like mine! Sometimes I wonder if I'm just having a mid-life crisis. Maybe it's not really a crisis, maybe just time for a change. I imagine if I ever get shrooms I'll be thinking "what did I do THIS for!" Oh well, try to be present and enjoy the "now".

But you just gotta know who to ask. People smoke/grow weed everywhere in the states.
I would try asking about that first, before I straight up ask for psychadelics. People who smoke are usually a little bit more open, so once you know someone who does you can ask them.
I don't know where you live... maybe it's really rural or really conservative, but I would just try to find places/events where like minded people go, so you can talk to them.
Are there any evolver events in your area you can go to? Any alternative music events? Or places that play this music.
I live in th city and know a lot of people who are cool, yet in the past year even though I searched and searched I was not able to find mushrooms. People offered me LSD but I prefer mushrooms b/c of how natural they feel.
Alas, I have yet to come across them.
It gets pretty frustrating at times. But they will appear to you when you least expect it, and that's when the time is right.
At this one small mountain festival I attended a couple years ago, my husband and I were even prepared to do LSD, so we bought a dose from a guy who had only given us plain paper for our money. We were pretty sad, but decided to let it go and just enjoy the time we had there. Out of nowhere this guy with the best mushrooms I had ever done, just gave us a cap to split, because he liked us and felt bad for us. That night I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Haven't done them since, but look foward to my next time whenever that is.
Maybe something like this will happen to you.

just my thoughts on many of the legal "highs" - is strictly my opinion and I am often wrong. It just does not seem to me that most of the legal "highs" are things which actually advance one spiritually. I would say that I would think the best forms of psychedelics are the ones which mother nature gives us naturally, but of course lsd would be an exception. For me, and only me, not so much looking for a high experience, but yearning for spiritual experiences. I seem to have a hard time meditating, can't see me fasting for a lengthy period of time or dancing to drums for hours on end....so it leaves me longing for some aide. I just don;t see myself getting there with meth and coke wannabes as I really have no desire for meth or coke anyway......

meth and coke are destrutive drugs that actually isolate people. so yeah, you def don't want that. there's nothing spiritual about them. same thing with a lot of the legal highs. that's what they are. highs. at least in my opinion.
as for dancing, it doesnt have to be to drums or anything. dancing definitely helps you transcend to another state.
you should definitely try to go to some music festivals. maybe in the summer.
there you will find people interested in spirituality and you will probably have luck finding psychadelics.

yea, I do not really go out much. I am a disabled vet, spine is totally fused (grew together on it's own) and I have had both hips replaced, need both knees done but I am trying to hold off another year . Which is why I really don't meet a lot of people anymore. Gives me plenty of time to contemplate, but I have been retired this way now since 1992. Tis a long story. Which is why I figured my best chance is to grow some shrroms or san pedro. Failed in the shroom department last 2 years and san pedro seems a bit pricey since you really do not know what you are getting.
