I began reading Part 1 and was pleasantly surprised. At first I squinted suspiciously at the suggestion of "using science to solve society's problems" because the phrase seems to reflect the technocratic societies suggested by Huxley and B.F. Skinner.

But as I kept reading, I enjoyed the concise and simple arguments made about the flaws of our current monetary paradigm, and agreed with most of it (although I felt myself constantly wanting to interject my own opinion into the discussion).

I understand the standoffishness to accepting any of these concepts. At first my radar went up screaming "1984! Big Brother!". As I have researched into the concepts- I realized that all my paranoid fears were injected into The Venus Project by me. I was associating automation and technology with restriction of freedoms. The Venus Project brought so many questions to mind, and surprisingly alot of solid answers.
I would suggest taking a look at Peters most recent video lectures, as he addresses the basic and fundamental problems in the world today and how a Resource Based Economy can truly solve these issues. Peter also does the weekly radio program where he addresses questions. Any comments or arguements that you would like to have addressed you can post on the Zeitgeist Movement Forum.

I have been searching for years now looking for real answers to the many problems in society today. The Venus Project addresses most issues collectively. (This is NOT a Utopian idea. There will still be problems, but we will have the freedom to address them as they come along the road.) I feel that we as activists can get burnt out trying to juggle our time and donations to so many different organizations and non-profits. What's more important- climate change or starving children? In today's society we have to choose between these types of issues. Why can't we solve both? The Venus Project suggests a system where this is possible. Please help yourself to the free information provided on both the Venus Project and the Zeitgeist Movements websites.

Here's to a peaceful transition!
