Years ago, i read that earth was a quarantined planet, in a primarily balanced and orderly universe. That we on earth are essentially living through a seemingly infinite experiment. Initiated by a major human-event in pre-history, hidden by geologic upheavals. Most importantly, the 'cosmic experiment' is also unhampered and permitted to unfold a destiny, largely controlled by the collective, human 'free will'....
I still prefer this sort of premise or mythology and am still inspired by it.
