Galactic collision captured by Nasa's 'Great Observatories'

I find that to be somewhat

I find that to be somewhat ominous in light of what speculations of cataclysm this planets potentially had. Interesting to read threw the comments as well. Some calling it a thing of beauty but I wonder if the shear destructive nature of such an event even registers or is recognized. It's not like we can do anything about it and any potential beings living perished long ago at the time we're receiving this message 100,000 years later. But I do think about the stress and turmoil we would be in if earth were in one of those galaxies. You think people stress about Planet X?

I was watching on some show

I was watching on some show on the history channel and they were saying that when systems collide, there is so much space that a lot of the systems within the galaxy will never actually collide. Aren't we do for a collision in the next few million years with Andromeda? Maybe it was a show called "Through the wormhole" on the science channel, it explained what it would look like if it happened on earth. It was the most frightening wonderful thing I have ever seen. Ever had dreams of the sky falling?
