Prof:

He's early in his career, apparently. Its very, very dangerous for someone so young to propose a theory like that. Well, I suppose if thigs don't work out for him on the job front, he always write a few best-sellers and use the money to go on retreats for the rest of life -- you know... the kind of thing everyone does; more seriously, it IS the kind of thing we all will do one day...

The author of this research

The author of this research paper is an expert on RNA and molecular biology and has allegedly used his theory to make a prodiction about RNA development and confirm it observationally in the lab. The cross-discipline applications of his theory are fascinating.

ScienceDaily's summary is somewhat misleading. The theory implies (as well as explicitly suggests) a new definition of life has become necessary, because according to the current 'animate/inanimate' paradigm, all matter is animate and therefore "alive" according to the current definition.

sciencedaily:

Looks like sciencedaily has pulled the article. I wonder why {ironic}.

As good as it sounds, I don't think it will go anywhere. But it's not any crazier than some of the things Ralph Abraham has written.
