star0 14 weeks ago A skin cancer drug may rapidly reverse pathological, cognitive and memory deterioration associated with Alzheimer’s disease, according to new research published on Thursday.
Bexarotene, a drug that is currently used to combat T cell lymphoma, appeared to reverse plaque buildup and improve memory in the brains of mice with Alzheimer’s disease by reducing levels of beta-amyloid plaques in the brain that cause mental deficits in Alzheimer’s disease.

That's about the 4th breakthrough treatment I've read about on Alzheimer's (including for mice) in the past year. I don't think the disease will last too much longer -- perhaps in another 2 or 3 years it will be completely eliminated... much sooner than I would have ever thought. I wonder if "big data" (A.I./machine learning algorithms scanning for correlations) was responsible for spotting the connection between this drug and Alzheimer's...
