You ARE a political being!

I’ve heard SO MANY spiritual people say, “I’m not political.” I have news for you. You ARE a political being. Like a fish swims in water, you swim in a matrix of political thoughts and institutions. And just like the fish is never out of contact with the water, you are never out of contact with the political world that has woven itself around you.

And just like the fish could only knows it is in water through the experience of leaving the water, you will probably never understand the depth and degree to which your consciousness is interwoven with the political world, until you pull your consciousness free from it. Until you take the time to allow the invisible matrix to be seen.

Spiritual people often acknowledge that everybody is spiritual - that there is nothing that is not made up of God-stuff - so even if you don’t define yourself as a spiritual person, and even if you are not consciously on a spiritual path - nonetheless you are a spiritual being still on a destination that will eventually lead to your Self Realization.

Well, Dear Spiritual People - in exactly the same way that everybody is spiritual, everybody is political. And just like the spiritually ignorant person will at some point embrace their spirituality consciously - in this life or another - all of will be required to awaken to Political Life. It is part and parcel of true awakening.

That time began for me about four years ago. Until that moment, I was blissfully and willfully ignorant of Political Life. I was interested only in my spiritual development. I believed that it was not only not necessary for me to concern myself with the political reality of my world; I considered it detrimental to my spiritual health. The whole of my attention was on my personal awakening and with that undiluted focus came mystical experiences, break-through experiences, highs that lasted for months, miracles of healing, etc. Many of the experiences that spiritual people seek to know.

But the experiences came and went and what I noticed is that although I could have a level of peace seemingly rare in the world, it did not last. And more importantly, I realized that I was not in a peaceful world. My country was and is divided between the left and the right and this is billed as somehow normal and inevitable. 9/11 and the Middle East. Israel and Palestine. The local police kill mentally ill people routinely and black people nearly as often. The sirens never stop and the police helicopter makes regular appearances in my air space.

So who am I kidding? Am I really at peace when I live in a world that is expressing this much pain? How real can such a peace be? And if everything is happening inside of me and is a reflection of my own consciousness, then what do all of these events reflect about me? I still don’t have answers to these questions, but I’m no longer satisfied with a hide-my-head-in-the- sand version of spiritual life.

By the time my political awakening came, I had come to trust the unfolding of Life. My goal has always been awakening - the full Real Deal awakening, as I often say. And my spirituality had taught me to simply trust whatever came into my awareness and to embrace it - to follow its lead, to trust my desire. And so I found myself interested in, fascinated with, repulsed by, and then interested again in the political reality of our world.

To use an often disparaging term, I became what some call a conspiracy theorist - what I call a conspiracy realist. I became a student of history and economics, false flag events and free energy - all the subjects that lunatic fringe are compelled to consider. Lunatic fringe in this case means an intellectually and emotionally flexible person; somebody willing to look beyond pre-packaged reality and question ever more deeply what’s possible, what’s real, what is truth - even willing to open to information that by its nature is upsetting.

This, I feel, is the inevitable unfolding of a path dedicated to full awakening. Each will eventually awaken to the world all around . . . not just the world within. Maybe not this life, but in another. As spiritual people we often say that We Are One or One Love. If that is so, then the world outside me and the world within are One and if I am living in a world where millions of brown people are being killed and millions of black people are starving, then what part of me is responsible for that?

Open communication

Yes!!
The personal political is a deep neurological disorder that nearly all of unconscious humanity suffers from. They are either right brained or left brained. The chanell between the two hemispheres is closed. The subconsciousness turns on and off hormones through out the impression of society and environment within the learning experiences of a being's life, each experience, each decision led the being into a right or left mentality. Now here we lie in our beliefs, our second hand knowledge from someone else that claims to know. I've got news for you, your the only one to know anything. If you don't know it on a deep spiritual level then let the belief go, it is garbage. For example those who believe that their religon is the only path only believe, they do not know god. If they knew God they would know there are many paths and they all lead within then they would drop this nonsense. Humanity fell from eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge. We gave our faith of the intuition over to the hands of the experts. Now we are slaves to these so called experts. Let the channel of communication open to the heart, the knower, the right side of the brain. Follow this intuition this knowing of the heart. This intuition is the rainbow bridge, the balance of the masculine and feminine energies within. The rainbow bridge is the dance of love, the negotiation between the two hemispheres. The instinct and the divine reason are the wings of the intuition, the love of the heart. If you still have beliefs, if you do not yet know, then you are a political being, half of you is supressed by the politics of the other half of the brian. Liberate yourself into Love.

libramoon,

libramoon, I just really like you. You synthesize my thoughts very well. I appreciate it. :)

So if politics are lies them

So if politics are lies them all mankind are involved in lies?

One cant leave the lie and lie's
hum - poly-tics means many parasites and in a way all people are parasites, true dat -

but who will go to any lenths of pain and suffering, to hights of pleasure to find their self - the deepest parts naked and revealed for your self to see?

for most awakening to politics is awenking to a new dream, they stay there or in to this or that group or socity with causes and movements all idol complacentcy - these cause one to deny self, leave self behind to follow others paths = not your own - any one diveded is against them self and cant fully know them self -- - there are in fact paths no one has made yet - pathless paths un beated by groups egregore and political motivations of money and idolitry with ego step ladders -

poly tics is a sickness and psychopathy that has created many demise and lack of full consciousness - full brain fuction and self control is a must not politics - those the lies acts as a catylist in many cases to a higher understanding but still not ego death - peace

Throw your clocks away. The time is Now!

hi Trade Mark

Okay, I confess that I have a bit of trouble understanding you. I mean, I think I get it, but let me just be sure so that I can actually feel as if we are communing - that we are actually understanding each other, even if we don't agree.

Well, I think that the realm of politics involves a great deal of deception to be sure. To just explain - my worldview includes the belief that we are in the world of the Ego. Meaning, that this world by its nature is about separation. I mean, the body itself is a symbol of the desire to experience oneself as separate from others, right? On some level we have created a world that involves the experience of being separate individuals. So there's a level of deception built into the world, because that's not really true, right?

But once we have embarked upon this journey into the physical, we are involved in a process that has different expressions of our divinity or lack thereof. Some things are stunningly beautiful creations and sublime transcendental experiences happen - albeit rarely. And on the other end of the spectrum, the political realm seems to involved the greatest degree of deception. And when you really penetrate to what is happening at the level of the power elite, you learn that the lack of awareness of our divinity is in great measure the result of hidden policies and programs of the elite and that this has been going on for thousands of years.

Okay - so this is where my focus is. Many spiritual people seem to believe that we can overcome the madness of the world by simply meditating, doing our personal shadow work, being kind, etc. They often also believe that if they allow themselves to be aware of the devious things that are going on in the world that they will become toxic, and they see this as counterproductive to a spiritual life.

So they create a duality - a split. They refuse to bring spiritual light to politics - except a few. I note that this seems to be changing however - and I'm glad to see it.

Now, you seem to be saying that, too. Your focus seems to be - just get to the end of the journey. Allow the Ego to die. All beauty and all that you would like to know is on the other side of the death of the Ego. Forget politics, forget all of it - find the courage to know the fullness of your own Reality by allowing the Ego to die. Therein lies the end of all problems.

I mean, I think that's what you're saying, right?

And if so, I say this: Potentially we can overcome the Ego and still stay in the body and know our Oneness with Life, God, each other. I believe that, too. I believe that it is available to all of us, and I think that there are some known and some unknown who have had just that experience. Its available, but as a practical matter, very few people have the presence of mind, the spiritual backbone, to dissolve their own Egos. As of yet, it is still a very rare experience here. And this leads me back to the realm of the political.

This is what I see. Like David Hawkins said in Power vs. Force, 3-5% of the people are causing 80% of the problems on planet earth. That sounds about right to me. And what I figured out is that the impulse behind all of this madness which is promoted by the power elite is to keep us unaware of our true potential.

So I look out at a world that is largely unaware of their potential and I ask myself, how can I best help this world? And the answer I arrive at is to expose the monetary system and the power elite's hold upon the propaganda machines known as government, media, and school.

I have a very practical nature. And still every single day I am aware of and dealing with the truth that the full death of the Ego is really where its at. I've had enough mystical experiences to appreciate what that actually means. The overwhelming majority of the world would not benefit from my discussing that part of my life. Its not relevant to their experience. I want what I do and say to be relevant to people in a way that is helpful in a very tangible day to day way.

And so my encouragement is to spiritual people to let go of the false divide between spirituality and work in the world, particularly political work. But I'm all for anybody who wants to simply sit under the Bodhi tree and awaken. I would never find reason to object to that. :) It is interesting how many spiritual people find reason to object to political work, though.

Now let me ask you, Trade Mark - do we have common ground? Do you understand me? I'm not sure I understand you, but I'm trying.

thanks rae

"Indeed, because spiritual well-being can only proceed to the next level through our relationships to other people, other beings, and the planet, the very word "spirituality" as distinct from social, economic, and material life is losing its relevance. Built into the concept of spirituality is the idea that some areas of human life are not spiritual. That divide between spirit and matter, between the life of the soul and the life of the flesh, is crumbling." Charles Eisenstein http://www.realitysandwich.com/across_threshold_0

perfect quote William

This is exactly the point. There has been a duality created between politics and spirituality that is false. It seems to me that when we become fully divine human beings, there is not one thing we would do or see or think or feel that is not infused with spirit. At that moment all religions, including the religion of government itself, will disappear. Spiritual people who refuse to bring light to politics and politicians who ignore our spiritual nature hold the world in an unnatural and unhealed world.

Interesting take...

An interesting take on politics, but I think our founding fathers summed it up with the constitutional wall they created between religion and politics, through the separation of church and state; even though that wall has been dismantled in modern times. Most believe that it had to do with them previously being under the Anglican Church, but remember; most of our founding fathers were not religious, they were Masons, and some also Rosicrucians as well. They realized the importance of the divide between the truly spiritual and the political. This time I'll have to agree with Trade Mark.

If you want to bring an element of the spiritual in the realm of politics; why don't you throw your hat into the political arena. Be the first to make the change within the system! I think that all of us here would encourage that type of change.

hey Mark

Well, I don't see myself running for office, if that's what you mean. I have too shady of a history for that. :)

But I think that we can be politically aware and active and participatory even without running for office. Just as you are. I mean you blog, you consider, you have your beliefs, you learn, you grow, you teach, you share, you evolve your political perspective. And then you have your spiritual life, but you aren't hiding behind your spirituality as a reason to not be engaged in political life. You haven't created a false separation there.

And I have no doubt that your evolving spirituality informs and infuses your political beliefs.

The story goes that the Founding Fathers mightily felt the presence of the divine as they were engaged in the process of carving out a new world where freedom could be more fully lived. So even while they believed that the government should not interfere with anybody's right to worship in any way the saw fit, they didn't eschew divine guidance or spiritual principles. It sounds like they opened all the more deeply to it by virtue of the task that was before them.

I think of the Declaration of Independence as spiritual doctrine.

So this blog is really directed to something different. Its really directed toward spiritual people who have rationalized not being politically aware and active because they somehow see it as beneath them or toxic. And mostly because they are not aware to what degree their life is shaped by government. They do not know the degree to which political power has been wielded to keep them in a box.

Forming the new government

You are absolutely correct, in that our founding fathers were spiritually guided in their endeavors to form a new government. Most people don't realize that the "Declaration of Independence" and "The Constitution" are Masonic documents, based on Masonic vision and values, and written by Masonic authors. Those that constantly site that this country was founded on Christian principles and doctrine are sadly mistaken. As far as the founding fathers are concerned; their loyalty and devotion to being Masons far outweighed any feelings or loyalty that they may have had toward any specific faction of Christianity. These men definitely had most ancient spiritual guidance through their rites, but they knew where to draw the curtain for future generations, so that what they established with their spiritual guides, would not be tampered with, and it did last for over 200 years. Unfortunately, their desire and goal for our country has been sawn asunder. The constitutional separation of church and state has been violated many times over the last three decades. The system we now have completely lacks the spiritual base that it was founded upon.

So now the question is: Is it possible to bring about a spiritual redirection to our system? The question that each of us needs to ponder within ourselves is; Is the system actually worth saving? Or, has it strayed so far from its spiritual roots, that it can no longer be saved? That is something for each of us to meditate upon.

Forming the new government - my reply

Our country, for all of its flaws, and all the misdirection is the seed of the New World. I see us in a process of of ending the system and implementing the Systemless System. The system where each is divinely sovereign over their own life. Divinely sovereign is redundant of course.

Naturally enough - the deeply entrenched old system was not going to be comfortable with true freedom and so immediately it went under attack. And there's lots of evidence that it was never even meant to be a place of true freedom - only the illusion of it. But even if that's true, the illusion is a powerful one. So the birth of the American spirit represents the beginning of what many today call the New Age - the birth of a new consciousness.

New Agers/Ancient Wisdom folks who avoid politics don't fully understand this. If not for Americans intense faith in their right to be here, to be happy, to be prosperous, to take control of their own lives, to worship in their own way, the New Age movement would not exist today. They have the same beliefs but there is often a false separation created in the mind about it.

So as I have meditated on this question, my response is: Let us return to the values of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and then continue from there. What is the from there? As we remove the power from the The Fed, the federal government, the military industrial complex, the corporations - as we decentralize until the point where political freedom is returned to the local community and the family and the individual - we will find that government itself will disappear. The system will become unnecessary.

But its like the growth of a child. If we want people to become sovereign, we have to give them practice with sovereignty. We have to quit picking them up when they fall, and quit projecting our fears and our faithlessness on to them. You don't keep a child a child until he is 18 and then send him out in the world with no concept, no skills, without a sense of self or the world.

Interesting thing is that if you include a child in the world of adults, he/she totally gets it! Children are naturally genius. They naturally understand the adult world and are deeply interested in the world around them and making it a better place. If not for the deep conditioning of their parents which teaches them to be small and afraid, they would be energized and alive and actively participating in the world.

So as we all withdraw our conditioning which teaches us to be small and subservient to the system, we will become powerful masters over our own lives. Happy, healthy people don't need to be governed and they don't naturally harm others. We don't need government. We need happy, healthy people. So as we practice sovereignty in whatever areas we can and we expand that sovereignty, government grows smaller and peace and freedom loom larger.

But we have to get a break from the government - this parent of ours - which is sometimes a tyrant and other times too protective - needs to step out of the way so that the child can grow.

Expanding Understanding of Love

Another excellent post Rae, I have the following to offer in support:

First of all, if you pay taxes you're a political being! When you pay for war and other destruction every year of your life, do you think that's irrelevant, because you're "just spiritual"? People that think such nonsense are in denial, blinding themselves to the truth with bunk philosophy.

Secondly, the idea of there being a real divide between spirituality (i.e. doing inner work / the inner world), and politics (i.e. doing outer work / the outer world), is completely false.

Obviously what we do inside effects the outside, and what occurs on the outside effects the inside. Innumerable examples of that dynamic could be given, but I'll just give a couple:
1) A child is physically abused, this creates trauma and the creation of subconscious beliefs and concepts that negatively effect/control their adult behavior (effecting the outer world), until they do the inner work to "reprogram" their minds. (News Flash: Politics create trauma.)
2) A compassionate and kind adult becomes sick, losing their ability to concentrate and focus (effecting their inner world), severely hampering their meditation practice. Later they discover the illness was due to a toxin they were being exposed to, from some FDA approved product.

This is not a complicated phenomenon, the problem is that people are not seeing the "Oneness" of our inner and outer reality, as Rae was saying. And what's more, they are not understanding that both inner & outer oppression/tyranny/harm have the same solution, namely the Golden Rule. There are spiritual people who agree with that principle as being key for enlightenment, but then they ignore the reality that social-systems violate that principle by being inherently violent and tyrannical, in whatever form they take. Do you want others controlling your life, stealing your income, and your birthright to your fair share of the Earth's resources? If not, then you shouldn't support that being done to others, therefore you shouldn't support governance. ("Anarchy? No that wouldn't work..." I can already hear the masses say in response.) This is where people's critical thinking and logical reasoning usually stop, because of intense indoctrination they received, especially during childhood. This creates a giant blind spot in many people's view of the world, and what the root problems in it really are. They don't yet see that all the mass environmental, social & health destruction, including the current and increasing assault on the foundations of biological life itself (GMO's, Nanotechnology, Radiation exposure, and Artificial Chemicals that break-down our DNA), all have the same origin: social-systems, that are based on violence and domination, i.e. a violation of the Golden Rule. All of this mass-destruction only became possible with the unnatural and unjust funneling of wealth and power to the few via social-systems, "democratic" or not. (Please re-read that last sentence.)

(If you're thinking "No, it's not government that's the problem, but lack of democracy", or something similar, please read the top 2 essays here, in which I explain the error of such perspectives: http://colindonoghue.wordpress.com)

How do we unite with Inner Nature, with inner Freedom, Peace and Love?
It appears to me the answer is basically by loving ourselves and others, and not complying with the conflicting false authority of any inner beliefs that oppose that, so that we can attain clear "Awareness of Awareness" (i.e. "God/dess realization), or "Enlightenment" in the context of the Buddha's Noble Eightfold Path. Not an easy practice, or one I've mastered myself, but we can probably agree it is a principled common-sense path to inner (r)evolution.

The same is true with how we connect with outer Nature: overcoming false beliefs (like "government is necessary and virtuous") and not complying with the false authority of government which threatens us into violating the Golden Rule, under duress. For practicing that noncompliance, the outer (r)evolution, we each need sovereign cost/tax free land so we can connect with the Earth, each other and other species harmoniously, via veganic homesteading (ending our dependency on and participation with the destructive corporatocracy, and livestock industries). Anarchy, like Veganism, is just an expansion of Love beyond unfounded limitations; It is only false beliefs that hinder that understanding.

How many times have I heard "Love is the answer" from others? It's countless. How many of those same people recognize and admit the un-Loving reality of all social-systems and animal domestication/slavery/murder? Unfortunately, I could count the people I've encountered who really do with the fingers of one hand. This is why the world is as terrible as it is.
