Festivals, Avoid a Tragedy of Psychedelic Proportions

So, it is Festival season and if you are planning on attending some festivals this summer, please use some good old fashioned common sense.
Hopefully, the following fable will give "those who have ears to hear" a heads up.
A group of young people were going on a cross country journey to an awesome music festival. They were packed full of tasty treats to share with other Festival goers. I'm sure their arrival was anxiously anticipated by many of the 5000 attendees. However when they packed, and loaded their vehicle they forgot some things. Number one, packing treats in plain site is not a good idea. Very silly and irresponsible. Number two, obeying all posted speed limits, and traffic signs, like "stop" when you come to a "stop" sign. Number three, forgetting that the roads to these Festivals are sometimes filled with law enforcement personnel who only need a reason like speeding or rolling through a stop sign to pull you over. It is after they have you pulled over that the "fun" begins, if you have suspicious looking pans, in plain sight, and if you roll down your window, the smell of excellent "bud" is so strong, it knocks you over, you are gonna have some problems. It is a sad, sad fact. But a fact it is, and you must prepare yourself for the journey in to the Festival, because once you are "in" it is usually private property and you have passed "go" and can collect a great time!
So, the unsuspecting speeders, or stop sign disobeyors get pulled over. The next thing you know pans of goodies and backpacks filled with friendly fungi are being loaded into squad cars, and you and your friends are going to spend the long, long weekend in the local jail.
When planning these trips have a sober and conscientious driver. Keep everything out of sight, except tents and camping equipment. Pack treats safely and triple, or quadruple bag them, bag them in some coffee beans! Coffee beans have a really strong smell, and if you have a camping coffee pot that is visible, you look like a camper who loves good coffee. Law enforcement understands the need for good coffee. Save your coolest, craziest hippie clothes for the Festival, try to look more like a camper while on your way to the Festival, you do have to set up a tent after all! Be safe, be smart, think ahead, obey laws, and when you get to your destination, PARTY YOUR BALLS OFF!
I won't tell you the weight of the treat packed knapsack, but the scale didn't go that high, and neither did the poor, unprepared people who didn't use common sense. On a long weekend the judge doesn't come in until Tuesday. Bummer. Truly a tragedy of psychedelic proportions!

No Shit!

Thank you for the important reminders. I am going to be doing a lot of traveling this summer coming up - and I know how easy - and unforgiving - small planning details can be. Free your logistical mind and the rest will follow...
